Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We happened to be visiting friends near Brussels in April, and they told us we had to visit Hallerbos. We went on a Sunday afternoon in late April and spent a couple hours wandering the trails and taking (beautiful!) photos. There were a fair number of other people there, but it didn't feel too crowded. We had a rental car, so getting there was pretty straightforward and there was parking nearby. Overall definitely a place worth visiting if you're there when the bluebells are in bloom!

The Basilica of St Martin is the only reason why the small Flemish town of Halle has been graced with two stars in the Green Michelin Guide. As Halle is only ten minutes by train from Brussels, we really wonder why it took us so long to visit this stupendous church. There is so much to be seen the basilica is a whole museum of medieval religious art in itself. We picked up a brochure for sale at the back of the church, containing a floor plan, fifteen good-quality pictures and detailed descriptions of the interior. We regretted not having brought binoculars to examine the famous 14th century apostle statues because they are very high up and difficult to see with the naked eye. The crypt was closed, an extra reason to come back.

Great tour of this traditional Lambic brewery. You get to see how lambics are made from start to end. Beautiful historic brewery. The bar on the 2nd floor of the welcome center is brand new and very nice. You end the tour tasting three different beers. Great opportunity to learn about Lambics on a guided tour. 5-min walk from the train station.

Totally renovated brewery related venue, part of a recently renovated brewery complex with event venue and museum. Nice result, starting from a really derelict and crumbling site.
Classic cuisine and more modern foodie creations

We are not versed in classical music and so had no idea who Adrien-François Servais was when we saw his huge statue in front of the old town hall of Halle’s grand place. It turns out Adrien-François Servais, who was born and died in Halle (1807 -1866), was a world-famous cello composer and player. Hector Berlioz is said to have dubbed him ‘the Niccolò Paganini of the cello’.

A nice detail is the fact that the statue was crafted by Servais' son-in-law, Polish sculptor Cyprian Godebski, who also sculpted the statue of Copernicus we saw in Kraków. The single block Carrara marble statue from 1871 is very classical. Servais is standing on a high pedestal, draped in a wide cloak, with his instrument resting next to him on the left side and his bow on the right side.
