During our visit we didn't see best of view of the lake since it was frozen but whatever we saw was really scenic and probably one of the best mountain lakes I have been to.

Our tour group of 22 spent two nights here in late September 2019 at one of the two hotels located on its shore. This idyllic tarn (mountain lake), reaching a depth of 66 feet, was created by a receding glacier. It is the second highest glacial lake on the the Slovak side. It is also the most famous tarn in the High Tatras. Along with being a top tourists attraction, it is also attracts brides and grooms who come to have their wedding photos taken beside the tranquil water--and there were many during the time we visited. A beautiful trail encircles the lake, offering fantastic views of the mountains, forests, and of course the lake. It took my spouse and me about 45-50 minutes to do the stroll. As you walk, do stop to enjoy the carvings of fish that can be found in various locations.…
