We were looking for a mountain peak to climb with two smallish children, 4 and 7. With a significant help from the Solisko chairlift, we've made it!

Our children have loved their first ascent, and are already waiting for more. The path up for them was like an interesting game, and they also enjoyed the view. And the descent, well, was even easier.

However, I have to warn that this might be not for everyone. The path is steep, and some places more difficult than the others. The children must be ready for this adventure both physically and mentally (it also means having some discipline!).

I took the skilift up to Solisko at 1810m. I climbed up the steep hill with nice stone steps to help and arrived at the cross at the top of the hill at 2117m. Wonderful view! It took me 45 min from 1810 m to 2117 m higher up.
Then I walked down all the way to Strbske Pleso. A nice walk, tough on the tigh muscles!

Predne Solisko is maybe the easiest peak to reach in the High Tatras. With the overpriced (12EUR) chair-lift (walk up the skislope takes 50min) to the Solisko cottage it is just a 45min hike to the breathtaking view from the top. From here you see great parts of the Mlynicka and Furkotska valleys and of Krivan, the mythical mountain in the High Tatras.

While I often try to challenge myself on hikes, I have to say it was quite nice to take the chairlift most of the way up this one! The ride up is really lovely and peaceful, with your feet dangling over the trees. And then the climb to the top from the restaurant/hut is tough but worth it. Fantastic view from the top of the Tatras and down into the valley towards Strbske Pleso below. I also recommend walking down from the hut via the blue trail (Furkotka valley), you walk along a gorgeous river and the valley is stunning.

We took the chairlift up to the top for some pretty amazing views!
It was a bit hazy but we could see all the way to the lake below and all around the surrounding valleys. When you get to the top there is a small restaurant where you can order food and a beer and take in the views. You can also go on the trails to reach the peak above the restaurant. It is quite steep with lots of rock stairs to climb but when you reach the top it is so worth it...you can see for miles around!
We found climbing down harder than going up as the steep terrain was hard on ours knees. We were there at the end of summer but there were still wildflowers blooming and the remains of wild raspberries.
The views are stunning but I am not sure whether or not you would see much on a cloudy day. The chairlift was $20 each so I’d want to go on a fairly clear day.

It is absolutly amaizing. More than a few steps. Honestly it is like a good fitness training, I sweated a lot and needed and needed a shirt to change. Getting From the top new details can see, like little lakes. You will need a good shoes and good legs.

We have loved the way up here, with the chair lift. What a clear air! Lovely.
The photos cannot give back the view, but I will always remember.

Took the ski lift to the midpoint which was great, then climbed to the top which is over 2 thousand meters up. The views are incredible even if i found the climb a bit scary as it is very high up and there are some sheer drops. It is well worth the climb for the views alone.

Really nice view from up there, bit of a hiking to get on the top of the mountain but definitely worths that effort. And if you're not fancied any more walking then You can just stay down in local restaurant with nice traditional, coffee or drink.

Take the ski lift to the peak and enjoy the views. Even in peak season there was no waiting time for buying the ticket or getting on the lift. What I really like is this: There is a cafe way up there. It is, of course the only one available. Nevertheless, the service is friendly and our pizzas were actually very good, they sell world class beer and serve it perfectly chilled in a proper tall beer glass and their coffee is also spot on. In my country a simular cafe would charge a fortune for much lower quality since there is no competition.
