What a wonderful labor of love! Be sure to take the tour, you'll miss so much without it and this is the kind of place you'll want to support. If a tour is not available while you're there, it's worth the wait to go next door to Stella's and have a super fresh juice, or a coffee, or a beer... More

The modest exhibit is great for some close up, non-flash, photos of bats behind glass. The young man working the exhibit was very knowledgeable and friendly. This would be a great place to spend time on a rainy day.

We visited the bat jungle on a whim prior to leaving Monteverde as we were intrigued. It was a great educational experience that was very enjoyable. I learnt so much about bats and I now have a new found respect for them and their existence. I would definitely reccommend a visit. The tour lasted approximately and hour and involved a... More

My girlfriend and I visited the Bat Jungle and enjoyed being able to see bats up close and personal. Our biggest disappointment was in the habitat the animals are living in. It's full of fake trees and a lot of cement. The tour guide was knowledgeable although it seems like he was telling us information that was written on a... More

We do appreciate all comments about the Bat Jungle, including those of Katrina G. We would like to hear from her as to what kind of habitat would be preferable to the one we provide, since she found it disappointing. She points out that is is full of fake trees - there are two large artificial trees, can hardly have... More

We are a family of three bat lovers. This small, well maintained educational centre was enchanting. It is like a small cave, the bats are enclosed so they do not fly around you but it is a dark room and you are given flashlights to view the bats. There is a microphone so you can hear the actual noise they... More

You are able to do a self-guided tour for half the price, but do the guided tour! You will learn so much you didnt know about these little creatures. It was excellent. Took about an hour.

The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They have lots of info on the types of bats, how bats help us, etc. The best part is the bat cave especially at feeding time. Lots of opportunities for photos.

We had a spare afternoon so we took the bus up the valley from Santa Elena ($1 - 15 minutes ride). The tour is approx.an hour with about 45 minutes talk and 15 minutes with the bats. The talk was captivating, honestly, we sat there and couldn't get enough info about these little creatures and the host is funny as... More

You begin your visit with an incredibly well done lecture on bats, their place in our world, and why people unfortunately fear them. I have rarely enjoyed a lecture more. The actual bat exhibit is small but gives ample opportunity to photograph and enjoy their behavior. it is time well spent.

This small but amazing tour was a delightful surprise. The guide was knowledgeable and the experience enlightening. Even for those who might be squeamish about bats....this will change your view and dispel misconceptions.
