Although small, the serpentario gives you a very good overview of the reptiles and amphibians (plus some tarantulas) that live in Costa Rica! The ticket allows you to come twice (during the day and when it is dark). Very friendly staff and knowledgeable guides.

If you like and wanna learn about costarrican snakes, frogs, turtles and some others species, this is the perfect place. Price is good and service excellent, it is safe, all species are on their own showcase and you can take pictures.

The place is small, but holds a few of the species that live in Central America. As I spent 3 weeks in Central America and didn't see one wild snake. This was a good eye opener to what was out there. When you pay for your ticket you can use this for double entry during the day and return on... More

Don't expect to go to huge exibition, this is a small venue. The upside of going there is the possibility of seeing some elusive species of reptiles and have something to do when you don't feel like hiking.

The serpentario exceeded our expectations in a big way. Learned a lot. They have a huge variety of snakes and some frogs and tarantulas to boot. Not to be missed.

I went on my own for about an hour before lunch enjoyed observing all of the different snakes, frogs, turtles, and tarantulas. The staff were very personable and professional. The answered many questions. They close from 3 to 6 when they reopen for a night tour. Your ticket is good for both times. 14 dollars was a fair price.

Strange building from the outside with snakes, frogs and spiders behind windows. Small exhibition on snakes. very friendly staff, willing to point out the animals when you can not find one.

Visited off season (September). Just two of us. It was $10 each. Allows for a second entry later, so you can see the animals at day and at night (to catch the nocturnal ones when they are active). I don't have an exact count, but there were roughly 50 glass enclosures, each with one or more animals. Snakes, turtles, frogs,... More
