Great resort
Feb 2020
This is a relatively small resort but it has some great runs and pistes. There are plenty of cruisy blues should you be finding your feet and some excellent red runs. If you are a skier who enjoys the challenges of steep black runs then this will probably not be the resort for you. Some of the lifts are a little slow but the wonderful views give you something to enjoy as you work your way up.

Nice ski resort, lots of skiing and fairly quiet.
Feb 2020
Spent a week here during half-term. Bit busy on Sunday but fairly quiet during week, compared to other resorts we have been to during French/UK half term. Lots of skiing on well kept runs, but lifts a bit old and slow in places. Went over to linked Italian resorts but busier and poorer snow conditions. Nice quiet town with reasonable selection of bars and shops. It just could have been a bit colder as conditions suffered a few days - but not their fault. An easy drive from UK but go via Frejus tunnel. Free parking is available but away from slopes, though you can get 30 mins free in main car parks for unloading into accommodation etc.

Something for all abilities in this stunning resort
Feb 2020
We visited as a group of mixed ability skiers, from novice to expert. The slopes were lovely and uncrowded. There were plenty of easy greens and wide blues. Reds and blacks for the more experienced and lots of off piste. We went over the border to Clavier for a day and had some lovely skiing there. Restaurants were good and not over priced and the pool was a good option for an unwind.

Some of the lifts are a bit dated but the lack of queues made up for this.

Ski Miquel great in Montgenevre.
Mar 2020 • Couples
Ski Miquel chalet is great but the best thing is the staff. Very helpful and great food.
Montgenevre has great area for skiiing plus you can go over to clavet for extra skiing with the Italian twist and of course Italian food in great on mountain Resturants.
Montgenevre is not a big town and is not a place to go if you want dancing on the table. But has plenty of bars and Resturants so you still have a great time. Recommended.

Ticket shop (women working their named Claudine was being extremely rude and making racist comments)
Mar 2020 • Friends
I’ve visited Montgenèvre with three friends this week and we all had tickets from the Galaxy Pass. Once we arrived there we all showed our tickets with our receipts. One of my friends was denied his ticket because his receipt was a bit ripped where it said Montgenèvre. But the thing is that they need to cut it off where it says Montgenèvre and it was definitely still there. When we all asked why he isn’t getting his ticket she said that he hasn’t got the right to get one because his receipt is apparently fake. We couldn’t believe what we’ve heard and we were asking for the manager. She then said that she is the manager (Claudine is her first name). I’m also writing to Montgenèvre to see if this is true. After discussing with her a few minutes she said that we should “f*** off back to Germany if we don’t like it here”. And after my friend then decided to just pay for the day ticket (which I wouldn’t have done) she said hope you’re having a nice day “a********”.

I’m honestly only writing this review because I couldn’t believe that someone working in a ticket shop believes to have the right to speak to clients like this. If she’s really the boss then I’m honestly praying to everyone working there because they must be called stuff like this on a regular basis.
That women really made that skiing day for my friends and me really unpleasant and I can’t recommend going there. Rather check out Serre Chevalier in Briançon. We had a way better skiing day there.

Skiing is excellent - easy to get to Clavier and also we skied for the day to Sauze d’oulx. Village is beautiful. Food is excellent - although I hate the fact that you have to reserve virtually everywhere - I don’t like regimented hols! Missing for me is the atmospheric Apres ski which only seemed to be available (to a degree) in la graal bar.

Great Ski resort on the borders of France & Italy

Second time in this Ski resort with Ski Miquel Holidays.
Superb place for beginners and caution skiers with their long easy Green runs as well as more challenging routes.
We had good weeks skiing due to snow on Tuesday night whilst we were there and sun shine the rest of the week.
My only negative is that there is not many apres bars with live music in the early evenings after a hard day’s skiing to relax in.
I would certainly recommend this resort again and suggest you look at Ski Miquel Holidays for a catered chalet

Great resort for beginners and rusty intermediates
Jan 2020
We stayed in Montgenevre for a week in early January 2020 and loved it. My husband and I hadn't skied for 20 years and our teenage kids had never skied. This was an idea resort for our party.
We stayed in the L'Obelisque part of the village, which had a great bakery and supermarket and we were able to ski from our accomodation to the Chavlet gondola about 50m away. The one negative of this location was that it was about 10 or 15 minutes walk with ski gear to the ski school meeting point. Not too bad and there was a free shuttle bus, but we never caught it.
The beauty of Montgenevre for beginners is that by day 3 of lessons, from never having been on a pair of skis, the kids were skiing right from the top of the mountain to the village, on green runs all the way. They had morning lessons with ESF, which were great.
If you are going to Montgenevre for a week you can only buy a Monts de la Lune pass (rather than cheaper Montgenevre Only), which covers a much broader area, including Claviere, Cesana, Sansicario, Sestrière and Sauze d’Oulx. It's pretty easy to ski over to Claviere, via the flattish 'Golf' run. To get back you need to ski a red from the top of Col De Boeuf ski lift, which is quite straightforward. We did this on a couple of mornings and it was well worth it. Montgenevre was lovely and quiet, in Claviere we felt like we had our own private resort! If you take the quick chairlift 'Serra Granet' to the top there are several wide, easy and quiet reds to choose from.

Jan 2020 • Couples
First visit to Montgenevre, following a week in italy. Very little here,no restaurants on hill, not even a cafe at the bottom of the runs, only at cable car station.main street just a row of pizza joints and bars. One supermarket, quite expensive. Our accommodation was terrible which didnt help.ski passes high side for what there is.Never been to benidorm but would imagine it's like this but with snow. Wont be back.
