We are thrilled with Lapland Safari.
We had a snowmobile safari today and a great guide.
Francoise gave us a very professional briefing, a great tour and was very attuned to the group.
At the end he gave us tips for tomorrow's tour alone with the snowmobile and dropped us off in front of a restaurant on the way back.
Thank you very much, anytime again.

Forest ski activity with Vilma: very good sunny morning of forest walk for a first with forest skis, beautiful landscapes crossed, small group of 10 people, super smiling guide and who takes time for everyone! To recommend!

Wow, what a positive experience. They were looking for an alternative when problems with my knee occur. Very enthusiastic employees, very nice and well organised excursions. The service provided by Lapland safari should be the standard in the tourism industry. I really highly recommend this organisation.

Lapland safari’s is a great organization. They and specially the crew is helpfull, kind and friendly.
Also they have the flexibility to make your trip as well as it suits you. Really perfect.
That goes for the people behind the desk, the clothing team and specially the guides: Kai, Elena, Julie, Francesco, Raquel, Reina, Martha, Katarina
They let Lapland live by their stories and information.
We recommend it to all.

We booked our snowmobile trip through Crystal ski, we did the snowmobiles at night out to see the northern lights.. it was snowing and cloudy but we had a great time, the two guys who took us were brilliant, really good guides, they explained everything before we went and kept an eye on everyone whilst we were out, we stopped off at a teepee, for a warm drink and sausages, then we set off back to yllas, over a lake which was a great time to pick up speed! All in all we had a fab time, didn’t get to see the northern lights but had a great time on the snowmobiles.

We went for a dinner at the ice Village, which was top notch. Our guide Joan gave us a brilliant tour of the place, and we had a Michelin quality dinner. I was recovering from a back injury, and the staff were very accommodating, moving us into the warm restaurant (which turned out to be a lot more enjoyable than the ice one).

There isn’t enough room to explain how magical this experience is. Noelia our guide was perfect, knowledgable and so funny. The whole day was amazing.
We started by going to the local office and were offered their thermal suits- quick tip - take the suit!! Then a short drive to the south half of the resort for a quick safety chat and to get helmets and balaclavas. You need really good boots and gloves too but they are all included in the price, as are the suits.
Then off to the snowmobiles. They are two person so as there was only us and one other couple we were a small safari. Noelia gave us a briefing on how to operate the snowmobile, basics on driving and safety including hand signals and we were off.
It is about an hour to the snow village and you can stop and swap drivers as you go.
It is actually nice and comfortable sitting on the back of a bit bumpy at times but that depends on snowfall and how many other people have been using the tracks.
The journey started out thru woods where the tress are heavy with snow. It looks like something out of a Wham video or a film it is so beautiful. Weaving thru the trees was great fun and relaxing. We went out onto a frozen lake then where you can really let the throttle out and do about 40km. We stopped on the lake after a while for photos and to swap drivers. Then off we went towards the frozen swamps to carry on our journey. This was great fun, fewer trees and different terrain but so much fun to drive.
We got to the snow village and popped into the loos and to warm up went into the restaurant where there was an open fire.
Lunch and a hot drink is included. Warning it is a traditional lunch, expect reindeer, mashed potato and pickles. I’m not a big fan of meat but if I’ve come all the way to the article circle I can at least try their food. Also served with coffee and a nice bun. Funnily serviced by a lovely guy who had lived in Birmingham which is about 5 miles from where we are from. Small world!
Noelia told us all about Lapland and what’s on offer year round. She was extremely knowledgeable about other activities as well as foraging and telling us about living in such an amazing place.
The snow village - I don’t want to spoil it. Please just go! There aren’t any words to explain just how magical it is- even when your may age (50 and a bit). I still went down the ice slide more than once and could happily have hit the ice bar but we had to leave after an hour or so after lunch.
Back to the snowmobiles and a very fast fun filled drive back.
I was worried this trip was expensive but for what you get it is worth every Penny and I would do it all again next year. In fact it was so amazing we are already looking to come back and hope Noelia and the guys are all here.
Please, if you get her chance go to Lapland Safaris and give them a go.

We had a great snow scooter experience with Lapland safaris. Even though the tracks where in a bad condition and were difficult due to a lack of snow, we were well taken care of by Bartik and Kai. It was an exciting ride with wonderful views with a stop in a typical local tipi. Our guides told us a lot about the culture around the wooden fire and while eating a bbq treat and drinking hot local juice. I would for sure recommend these guys!

Great experience from the off. Comfortable bus ride to the kennels/ start point. Well explained introduction from delightful guides from all over Europe. We were very lucky with theweather which was perfect but not too warm for the dogs, who were well trained and patient and tolerant of their novice mushers. Lots of photo oppotunities and great fun. Their wasan interesting question and answer session while we had a warm drink afterward, then we met some of the puppies. An excellent trip, not cheap but worth it.

The snowshoe hike with Ritta, our Sami guide was a heartwarming experience and lots of fun. Rita quite obviously loves what she is doing and is a great source of information about animals and local customs. One of the best nature experiences ever, and funny too.

I saw you did the 2 day husky tour in finland with the overnight in the cabin without electicity...
Where can I find this tour? I can see you're revieuw but tripadvisor only offers 1 day tours..

Hi Gill,
Great to know you’re planning a trip to Lapland, you’ll love it! Unfortunately I only went on the one day Snow Mobile rides. I booked the experience with TUI before leaving the UK but on arrival I found it was much cheaper to book locally. You can make enquiries with the reception staff about where to find the service providers.
Hope this helps...have fun at Lapland and stay warm.

We are going in December, taking my 5yr little girl and travelling with thompson, was just wondering if it's cheaper to book the trips there then book through thompson? Wouldn't mind doing the snow village or something?

Hi,
I went with monarch and booked one trip through them. I don't think it was any cheaper or dearer but the trip companies around and monarch only offer trips on certain days and times so we had to book with different ones so we could spread our trips out over the holiday and to make sure we did the ones we wanted.
The trips booked direct do get booked up so it's worth booking a couple in advance
