About Sisu Outdoor
Let us introduce ourselves. We are Timo and Maikku "brought by a train" to Yllas. That is how the local population call for the not locals. Anyhow we are locals now, Timo with 15 years and Maikku with 20 years of experience in Yllas. Both of us have an ISIA qualification (International Ski Instruction Association) with skills to teach cross country (traditional, skating, pumping), alpine, snow board and telemark skiing.

We went to Sisu almost as "absolute beginners" nordic skiers who wanted to improve a little bit, and weren't disappointed. The service was fantastic, and the equipment very well maintained and cared for. Timo is a really patient, positive and passionate teacher. He tried to instill some good knowledge and in 90 minutes we grasped some of the basics and were able to survive on the simplest tracks. Absolutely recommended!

The staff at Sisu were very friendly. We went out with Markus on a 20k fat bike tour (ebike) and had a fantastic time! These bikes are so much fun and once, we took advantage of the electric battery, nice and easy to ride. The scenery was stunning and we even stopped for some hot berry juice and snacks at a hut halfway through. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to get out and see the Finnish countryside in a fun way.

We initially went into Sisu to book a cross-country skiing taster course, as none of us hd ever done it before. It was a wonderful experience, and we subseuqnetly rented equipment for two more days and headed off on our own. We also did an evening shoe-shw walk as well, which was great. Both our guides were super friendly, well informed, and spoke excellent English. Owners Timo and Maikku are among the friendliest and most genuine people we met the whole time we were in Finland. Can't recommend this place enough.

First time riding fatbikes (E ) in Lapland! Custom service was excellent and friendly. Cycling three hours in wonderful landscape enjoying first snow of this winter season. Thank you Maikku for guiding us. We really loved it. We got good tips how to manage with the bikes but also we learned about the Ylläs environment and nature. We’ll come back in winterholidays.

Great to hear you had a memorable experience. We did too! It's always a good choice to see more wilderness life to spend a night or two in the nature. Hope to see you again next winter.
