Massive black sand beach, with people fishing and dogs playing alongside the beach even in the early June.

Firstly, the negatives: No shade down at the beach. The walk from the carpark to the beach is quite long and steep. Not much fun when you have two toddlers and a stoller with you. The positives: Lovely scenery, beautiful clean black sand. Toilets, outdoor...More

Great beach for swimming and surfing. During summer months you can rent boards and wet suits. Raglan surf does lessons here as well. Has ample parking, changing rooms and toilets.

The beauty of this expansive beach can be viewed from a couple of well maintained viewing platforms around the carpark. Walk down the access way to explore this surfing paradise. Take a dip or a surfing lession.
