Hiked with my 3 kids from the Goren lookout to the castle. The hike was more difficult then I thought with lots of rock-steps and some narrow trails. Be prepared for a 45-60 minute hike each way depending on who you are with. It was...More

The Montfort Fortress is a large impressive structure in the middle of what is unquestionably one of Israel’s prettiest mountainous and forest-filled regions – the Western Galilee. Climbing to the top of the fortress will give you a very pretty view of the Kaziv Valley...More

Goren and Montfort parks were gorgeous. Beautiful hike down to ein zeitim (ein tamir). Cold, refreshing water down at stream. Tomcars and buggies at montfortwito ranch were out-dated and very expensive. The promised 'One hour's ride' becomes not more than 35 minutes of driving. Horse...More

Suitable for couples and families, tracks are easy but are not circulars, if you dedicate a few hours (3-4h two way) you may reach a beautiful stream (Nahal Kziv) if you follow the red-mark track.

Took about an hour of a very slow hike to get from the parking to the fortress. The view from the fortress is amazing. Was easy for small kids as well

We hiked through this area as part of a 4-day sea-to-sea hike, from the Mediterranean Sea to the Sea of Galilee. The area was stunning... watch out for boar. They're a bit scary but they don't attack.
