Booking a trip to Ilot Gabriel is a bit like a lucky dip. There are tourist operators in every third shop in Grand Baie and it's confusing as to who's offering what and which boat you're going on. The BIG TIP is: make sure you book a trip that has lunch on the island and NOT on the catamaran. My... More

We went to ilot gabriel on Valentine's day as we had nothing else planned. We went via catamaran which held about 30 people and the journey took roughly an hour and half. We left at 9.30, arrived at approx 11.15, you then have to take a mini boat to the shore as the catamarans are too big. We were only... More

We went to IIot Gabriel by a catamaran. We had much fun on the trip to the ilot as it was almost 2 hours before we reached. We went around several small islands and the in charge of the Catamaran was full of information and the sunny weather added to the great experience. The Catamaran organised lunch and drinks were... This is a lovely place to visit and the nature reserve is wonderful. I reccomend this wholeheartedly. Beware though. Safety on the boats that take you there may not be good. 24 people on a 8 bearth catamaran with no apparent radio, life jackets, tender or life saving equipment. (There was a single perished life bouy with no rope attached... More

Snorkelling was good as there was fish within a few meters of the shore line. Few boats so not very secluded. Had to rent out umbrellas so had to find limited shading by trees on the beach.

I and my wife went on a 1 day cruise to Gabriel island / Ilot Gabriel. The catamaran crew are pretty chilled out and share lot of anecdotes about the local culture. The island is pretty small, but the beach is magnificent. we took a walk around the island ( 1 hour) for some picturesque views. On our way back,... More

We went to Gabriel Beach with the big Harris Wilson boat - booked through Mauritian Attractions - The Catamaran trip was excellent but when we got to the Island there was nothing to do. You would have to pay for the Sun Lounges and there is a Bar on the Island (well a small shack) but that is reserved for... More

A lovely beach and also great for swimming. Can get busy but do not see this as a bad thing. I loved this beach, went with great company. Would love to go again.

Nice experience, sailing on a catamaran to the island and spending an amazing time there. White sandy beach and excellent place for snorkelling and swimming.

A very beautiful and authentic island soaking in the middle of a splendid sea. The chapel there is a real gem. A day at Ilot Gabriel is purely idyllic
