It's a must see location but unfortunately they won't let you stop the caron the bridge for pictures. You better stop and walk. Great view!

It offers great views. Best views are from the Top of the Mountain, near Iron Man or from the Restaurant at Valea cu Pesti.

It's very beautiful place with great views. You must see it if you are on the way... I don't think it would be really the place to go just to see it. You must visit it if you are coming to transfagarasan road and you going by car and this place is on the way!

This is a wonderful dam located on the way to Transfagarasan. It's a good place to stop by before going to Transfagarasan. Since there is no public transportation to come, you should either use a car/taxi or get a hitchhike. Because we had no car, we started from Sibiu, took a bus to Ramnicu Valcea, a taxi to Poienari(or a... More

The dam is 166 meters tall and some 300 meters long. Too bad the area is pretty filthy. During the summer season, boat-trips are available on the Vidraru lake. A few restaurants and a hotel can be found in the area.

The dam is huge and made me a little dizzy looking over the fence. A good impressive stop on the way up the mountains.

After coming across the mountains on the amazing Transfagarasan road (which you must do), and driving around the lake for what seemed like forever, we finally reached the massive Vidraru Dam which made a nice little stop and photo op on our road trip. But besides stretching our legs, peering over the side, there wasn't too much to do. The... More

This dam is truly magnificent with a beautiful view. The scenery is quite breathtaking and the Transfagarasan road is something everyone needs to put on their bucket list. I was very nervous about travelling along this road because of the twists and turns and other crazy drivers, but I have to say it was all worth it. It's something quite... More
