This enjoyable walk in a park like setting is unlike anything I have seen before. Beautiful but slightly unsettling sculptures that were saved from centuries of over growth. Fantastic walk cost 10 euro per person.

5 centuries ago a crazy nobleman full of money decided to waste his resources by creating a garden full of weird statues, as a personal toy. Thanks to him, we can enjoy this curious treasure, which is a unique masterpiece in the world. It is...More

Wow! The closest I have come to this artistic accomplishment is Vigeland/Frogner Park in Norway--however those are statues of people, not of monsters! It was created in the 1500s, declined after years of forested growth and was then cleaned up and opened for the public....More

This is one heck of an unusual place. 16th Century sculpture spread out over hectors of parkland. The artwork is vary original and highly entertaining. We worth the 10 Euro entrance fee.

The so-called Grove of Monsters is a very interesting visit. There are a lot of grotesque and picturesque statues from 1500's. It used to be some kind of a labyrinth, so you might end up getting lost! That's part of the fun. Enjoy!

The map for Parco dei Mostri is famously bad. It is so inaccurate, that they must have done it on purpose. Perhaps they view it as art. I recommend that you put away the map, stroll for an hour, and then use the map as...More

Fantastic park populated by giant creatures, among them scary Hercules, leaning house, giant fruits, etc. Incredible experience. I arrived early in the morning in autumn, right for the opening. The park was empty and silent, so that walking all by yourself among those monsters was...More

My kids and I really enjoyed this park. They loved finding all the sculptures although they did get a little frustrated that they were not numbered so they could check them off their maps. Wear sensible shoes, its a lot of walking on uneven ground.

I know that there are some tours from Rome that go to both Viterbo and Bomarzo so this is an option to consider. I had to hire a driver because I can't keep up with groups on walking tours due to an ankle problem. It was... More
