Great, great place, great wines, breathtaking views, not to be missed!
Aug 2021
My wife and I visited the winery last week, in August, for a 7-course tasting, with the last (main) course for one of us substituted with grilled selection (for an extra 10 EUR). Our visit was at noon, which I think is the perfect time of the day to do it, and it lasted about 3 hours (at least). We were served 8 wines. This ends the informative section.
Now to the superlative section - I read the other 5-star reviews, and frankly, there's very little I can add to what was already said, except maybe put even more exclamation signs in my review, to beat the others :) - this place is amazing! The views are stunning! The wines are some of the best in the world! We expected this visit to be nice, but it easily surpassed our expectations. Go and enjoy, don't miss it! Two bits no one mentioned - (1) It is a UNESCO heritage site, for a very good reason :) (2) From the terrace you will notice a magnificent Cedar of Lebanon on a hill opposite the winery, it is I think unique in its size and beauty in Italy, outside of botanical gardens. Ask your waiter about it. Overall, a very excellent experience, as kids would say :) !

Great Winery Visit
Aug 2021
Fantastic panoramic views from top floor! Laura, our hostess, spoke very good English and did a nice job of explaining the wine production as well as the wines we tasted. Ask for her if you need your tour of the winery to be in English.
Wines were excellent!
Also important - this was one of the few wineries in the area that was open during the August vacation period.

Stunning & Delicious
Oct 2019
Absolutely stunning winery with friendly, informative guides and, most importantly, delicious wine! The four course wine pairing lunch was amazing and the winery was one of the most memorable parts of my entire trip to Italy.

Even better than we expected
Sep 2019 • Couples
I had seen the reviews here and decided to book a 7 course lunch with wine. I had high expectations and Marrone winery managed to surpass them. Each course was served with a wine pairing- 2 whites and 6 reds- you read that right- it was actually 8 courses. Plan on a 3 hour event- we chose to do it for our first full day in Barolo after arriving yesterday. So glad we did- as it allowed us a relaxed afternoon to acclimate and taste Chardonnay, Barbera,Barbaresco and Barolo. The staff were attentive, the food was great and of course the wine was incredible. I can’t say enough good things and encourage you to visit with them!

What an experience!
Restaurant with a panoramic view over the vineyards. Good wines, good food, good service for a very reasonable price.

Wow wine tasting with incredible view
Aug 2019 • Couples
We visited Barola yesterday and decided having had a good look around to have lunch in La Morra
We literally stumbled into this place and how lucky was that
On entering the lady explained that they were not a ordinary restaurant but rather a wine tasting experience with food
We were shown up to the tasting room which had the most incredible view of the surrounding countryside
We choose the four course option which was 20 euros and consisted of four small plates with wine and brilliant explanation
The food was fresh and delicious the wine gorgeous and the explanation professional knowledgeable and friendly
We finished with expresso and liquor and bought some good wine
Thank you Marrone we felt lucky to have wandered in hope you enjoy your holiday time
We will return next year

Beautiful view and nice food and wine
Jul 2019 • Family
We did a wine tasting at marrone, tried about 7 or 8 wines which all were good. They provide the wine tasting with Some good local food. Portions a little too big but we enjoyed the afternoon at the wonderful terrace.

Great people but can be a little bit more with knowledge of the wines.

Definately recommended to visit

Top of the pops

We have visited this place over the last 8 years and keep coming back for more Pichemej; we have seen how this place has developed. And had it developed?

Yes it has and it is loosing the family wine maker feeling and is stepping into the shoes of the best wine for 2013 (as the won!!!). So of cause they need to invest in marketing, wine tasting menus and all that comes from not wanting to be left behind - but it is not nice to see when you used to be greeting by papa at the gate.

The wine tasting menu we chose was really nice and Max helped us navigate the large selection of wines. We will be back, because the wine deserves it!

Incredible Setting
Jul 2019 • Couples
Took a wine tour to Barolo which brought us to this winery. Sitting a top of a hill, it has a spectacular view. Our guide did a superb job of explaining the multi-generation family owned winery. After showing us the winery, we were allowed to taste a wide variety of different wines. In addition, we ate lunch there and the food was every bit as good as the wine.

Family dinner
Nov 2018
We have stayed twice in that place. But the first time we enjoyed a lot and this time it has been changed, which is very sad. Quality of the food was not as good anymore - vitello tonnato was dry (the meat), i ravioli were over cooked... desert was horrible... and the service was extremely slow. This year tables are in 3 times more so the restaurant became very loud... wine was good enough!
