Best place to visit in ganja
May 2019 • Solo
It is THE BEST place for visit. The sprawling complex is beautiful, and beautifully restored with original structure intact inside the restored complex. Azerbaijanis come here to pray it is a place of worship with built in mosque separate for men and women and a madrassah or school . You must take off shoes to go inside and pictures are allowed. It is not wheel chair accessible and you have to climb a few stairs. There are toilet facilities but no restaurant. Will take no more than 30 minutes to see the complex

Imamzadeh Mausoleum, my favorite Mosque in Azerbaijan.
Sep 2018 • Friends
We made a trip from Baku to Ganja to visit this mosque. It's a very important mosque and has some pilgrimage. When we arrived there the Imam and other guys working there showed us the whole mosque, the great park and everything else....the were so so kind it was awesome. When we were finish the policeman of the mosque took us with his police car back to the city and made a sightseeing tour with us. It was a very cool experience.

Nice complex with unique buildings. Also has cemetery and Medrese. Holly place for local people, and recommended not to enter with short or open clothes

Religious place
May 2018 • Friends
This is a religious worship place, required a modest dress and hardcover. You should take off your shoes if you will enter the mosque.

Shirne of Ibrahim Muhammad Baqir
May 2018 • Solo
Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al Baqir is the son of the fifth imam of the Shia sect and one of the most prominent Sunni scholar and a direct dependent of the prophet. His son's Ibrahim grave allegedly lays at this location with many visitors coming for prayers.

An amazing Shia Muslim architecture - highly recommended
May 2017 • Couples
To anybody who has even a slight interest in Islam and Islamic architecture, that is a great place to visit and should be No. 1 on your list of attractions in Genje. It is a huge complex that also houses the tomb if Ibrahim Ibn Muhammad Al Bakir - the son of the fifth Shia Imam and the younger brother of the sixth Shia Imam. Hence, its importance to Shia Muslims who frequent it. The colors, the architecture, the calligraphy all impress you immediately. Try to arrive in the afternoon on a clear day and you will immediately feel the holiness of the place. If you look carefully, you will notice the sun in a few places including at the entrance to the complex - it is a remnant from Zoroastrian times. They gladly receive visitors from overseas and are very proud to show them around. Have a look at the buildings and corridors which surround the main mosque - they are exquisite as well. It is also worth seeing the place lighted up at night. Probably the most impressive Islamic architecture in Azerbaijan.
