If you into rice terrace, here is the place! I've been to many beautiful rice terraces including jatiluwih in Bali, Batad, Sadanga, Tinglayan, Mainit in North Luzon, Sapa in Vietnam, and this is another jewel of Asia, but its just you and the rice terrace, with almost non existent tourist!! I just love this place.

Lim Mong Valley, Mu Cang Cai

A small farming village near Tu Le, south of Mu Cang Cai. Small road on the left near a school leading to the village as you descend the Khau Pha Peak from North. No public transport to here, you have to arrange your own transport with the guesthouse that you put up with. Come here in the morning and you can see a lot of the farming activities ant the villagers busy with their daily cores.

A taste of culture local life

Lìm Mông Village is located at the edge of Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province - a province in the northern mountainous area of Viet Nam. Local people mainly rely on agriculture production with 2 harvesting seasons/year. The rice field is "notched" in the flank of mountains making it a huge rice terrace and amazing when it is ripe. Visiting Lim Mong, a village of H'mong people lying at the flank of a mountain. Bending slope path will make it feel life going to the sky. Going further into the village, you can talk to local people, visit their house and daily life, in the harvesting season, you can even enjoy making young sticky rice ("cốm) right at the spot and eat and buy as gift for friends and beloved. The slow pace of life and the very tranquil atmosphere is something you can hardly find anywhere else. With my limited words, I couldn't say it all but you need to come and FEEL it. You would not regret.
