Gawahon Eco Park is An Oasis Concealed in the Green Paradise of Negros Occidental.

Gawahon is actually a Hiligaynon term which means "to look-over from a high area". In the olden days when houses were raised from the ground and were made of bamboo and nipa, "gawahon" would mean "to look-over from the window or door". Indeed the name aptly suits this park since it is situated in a strategic spot in the high hills of Barangay XI offering an overview of the lower plains and the city. The site also features 7 waterfalls which I was not able to visit. The first waterfall is about an hour hike from the main area of the park. My short stay there did not warrant such walk.

As you enter the park, you’ll experience the captivating panoramic view between Silay and EB Magalona. And you’ll feel the cool breeze and scent of trees around you.

Gawahon Eco Park is found at the northwestern part of Mount Silay, which is in the upper half of the vast North Negros National Park. Within the eco-park are seven waterfalls, their beauty and splendor are distinct from the other.

Concealed in the abundant greens of the eco-park are the magnificent waterfalls of Gawahon.

It’s a trip to remember . Waterfalls , pool and scenic view of the nature around you is all worth the trip. Amenities is ok but still more room to grow. Staff are very accommodating and theirs area to do barbecue , boating, hiking and chasing waterfall as long us you’re up to get your hiking gear and muscle for this workout. Overall, it’s an awesome way to spend your day away from the stress and bustle of the city.

The place is a little far from the main city of Victorias. To reach this place you either need to have your own transportation or take a tricycle. Very environmental, we have enjoyed the place a lot. The water was old and and the area is surrounded with trees.

Cold Sweats
May 2016 • Family
It was summer time...and in almost everywhere hotness brings us soaking wet with sweat! But not in here at Gawahon Eco-Park; the wind is cold and relaxing.

When i was in manila though hot i hardly sweat. But i sweat in this cold place when we hiked to see the curtain-like falls and to find spacious spot of cold springs.

This is for thrill seekers ana nature lovers.
