A suggested walk in Peak District is to climb Mam Tor and walk to Loose Hill. The walk is about 5 miles, it should take about 3.5 hours return journey. The stoned path is clearly laid so there is no way you can get lost....More

Multiple route you can take. Definitely a very easy walk considering you are climbing a hill. Cows are grazing on the way up, they are very friendly. Stunning views from the top! Stairs up and down are well maintained.

We scrambled up the side on a lovely warm day with the 2 dogs and when we got to the top there was a coach of 45 very excited kids running round and playing on their lunch breach. Slightly changed the ambience of the experience...More

I was with a walking group. We started at Castleton and ascended to the peak of Mam Tor. Stunning views and we were lucky to have a hot cloudless day. Always popular so get yourselves up there!

We undertook Lose Hill & Mam Tor on a Sunday morning. The walk is steep in places and quite a bit of it is paved. Worth doing.

If you feel claustrophobic in your daily life and live like within 1 hour from Peak District NP, I would highly recommend this less than half day trip. Though you can make it longer if you wish to walk the ridges... We were just after...More

We went up from Hollowford Castleton to Hollins Cross which was midway between Mam Tor and Lose Hill. Great view of Edale valley and Hope valley from the ridge. Mam Tor viewpoint was terribly windy with no place for a picnic. We got down to...More
