Beautiful place, very well maintained and full of peace and calm. Recommend not to take the guided tour. Explore the place and go where the roads lead. The map provided to you at the ticket counter is good enough to help you explore the place. Dont miss the deer farm and the tortoise farm. Both are very good. Recommend visiting... More

It was really beautiful botanical garden. I loved all the palms, and interesting plants all across of it. There's a little section with turtles, little lake and tiny medical garden that I enjoyed. What I didn't like was the price of the tickets. We've spent all our money on the ticket, so we couldn't take a guide that was recommended.... More

I was underwhelmed by the try on of being sold a guide from the very start. When we were transferred to another very grumpy guide who complained about us talking we decided to leave the tour, he shouted at us to rejoin the tour,(No thank you) and so we made our own way around. The grounds are reasonably well kept... More

Wanna lie down under the trees and relax? The SSR Botanical Garden is the best place. Enriched with rare trees and flowers, this place is amazing for inspirations and to forget your worries. Even it is sometimes full with people, you will still have a corner for a picnic and to sit down appreciating the nature. Go for it.

Being a keen gardener myself, I've visited a lot of botanical gardens around the world, however, still haven't found the one to beat the royal botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The one in Mauritius was average. Some of the information plates were smeared therefore a private guide to lead you through the park would have been the best solution. The leaves... More

Garden with the most beautiful water lilies and peaceful.seeingthe indigenous talipot trees which flower every 60 to 100 years really appealed to our inner botanist soul.it is cool compared to the heat of the island so makes it a very appealing outing.the chateau de labourdonnais offers good french creole cuisine for the gourmet in us as well as being rich... We arrived at 10am and were greeted by one of the guides who offered to show us around. She said that we could wait for another 8 people to make up the group, or could pay more and she would take just the two of us. We decided on this option as it still only came to about £12 for... More
