I've visited before and came again. There is a lot to learn about the production of sugar and the history of the island. Came with 4 kids aged: 10, 10, 11 and 13. It wasn't quite as interactive as they're used to from UK museums...More

Interesting piece of Mauritius history - the museum, where the whole process of sugar cane growing, processing (from plantation to the factory) and sugar production is presented in a very entertaining way. Also the shop where you can buy some sugar canebased products. Worth visiting.More

Be prepared to learn in great detail the history of Mauritius and the making of sugar from sugarcane. The museum is located in an old restored sugarcane factory and has gone through great pains to detail a lot of history. It’s very well done but...More

The museum in general is very uninteresting. The displays are an awful lot of writing plastered across walls without any presentations or screens to captivate your attention. There are no interactive displays and therefore is not very child friendly due to the copious amounts of...More

Thanks for your comments. L’Aventure du sucre is a centre of interpretation which has been conceived by European museologue and scenographe up to international standards and the content comes from local researchers and scientists. Indeed, we receive PhD holders as well kids and we do...More

Anastabella was our guide. She was thorough, knowledgeable, and attentive to our need for questions. She threw in occasional humor which caught us by surprise to start, but then locked our attention to her informative presentation. Keep up the good work.

The bus doesn't go directly to the entrance. You'd need to take a bus to the Pamplemousses roundabout and walk to it from there. That would take no more than 10 minutes.
