Dodola island is a very nice place for a picnic day trip. Not much for food to pick from besides popmie noodles. And over night accommodations are slim. So pack a lunch for your visit. If you are staying overnight, you may want to bring your own bedding. Or sleep out on a palapa for the night. But it is truly a beautiful island. We walked and swam the day away. Even saw a black tipped shark in the shallows while walking in the water. They are building more overnight cabins, so they would be a good option when done.

Dodola is not in Ternate, just in the same province with Ternate. It's in Morotai, North Maluku. Still about 10 hours from Ternate to Morotai, by ferry. And from Daruba, Morotai Harbor, you have to take speedboat about half hours to go to Dodola.

This Island, Dodola Island, located near the city of Daruba, heart quarter of Morotai Island municipalities. This island can be reached with a boat or ship in 40 or 50 minutes from the harbor of Daruba. The wave of the sea is so calm in the Daruba. In Dodola island, you can swim in the shallow water and laying on his white beaches. There are guest houses for rent here for visitor, and a food and coffee seller, too. So dont be afraid if you are getting hungry while visiting this beautiful island...

We stayed two nights on the island. The accommodation is very basic, but it's worth to spend at least a night on the Dodola island. Take a mosquito net with you and also a repellent. There are sand flies around as well.

We stopped by this island during our surface interval on our dive trip. Best virgin island, you can take a walk along sandy path to smaller island during low tide. Make sure ask your dive guide to visit this island during your diving trip. highly recommended!!!

Been there twice & love the place a lot. The boat rent is a bit expensive so better to negotiate well with the boat owner. To reach this island you have the possibility to visit Zum-Zum island too as it includes on the boat rent fee :) Try to stay one or two nights on the bungalow in Dodola and enjoy fishing or swimming on your "private island". Less people come during weekdays :)
