The entrance is high above the lake, and there doesn't seem to be a path down to the water, but there are a number of places selling young coconut and grilled corn and the views are spectacular. If you have a few hours im sure you could hike around here and make your way down the hill. Supposedly there is... More

Tolire Great with mountain view background Gamalama, Ternate .. #wonderfulIndonesia 12 km south of the city of Ternate .. Although the atmosphere here a little bit mystical and intriguing really want to always look to the direction of the surface of the green water, tp here is pretty cool and the wind blows hard .. The depth of the lake... More

Well, it's a beautiful picturesque lake. Not much to enjoy but still it's another beautiful place to enjoy Mt. Gamalama from faraway. If you wanna stay longer, there are many warungs that serve snacks and drinks. Btw, it's also the biggest habitat for birds in Ternate but I wasn't lucky enough to see any birds.

The history of the lake is interesting. There are lot of kids selling rocks as the myth here whenever you throw the rock it wont never reach the lake..try and find yourself. Its a must-visited!

Gam Jaha is the local name for the sunken village or is the lake name due to the myth of a cursed father who committed adultery to his own daughter. Because of the curse, the village was sunk to become an unmeasurably deep lake while the daughter reincarnated to become the small Tolire down the hill with the dam diverging... More

Crater lake with footpath around the perimeter. Good views of both the lake and the volcano. Street stalls by the car park for a welcome drink of fresh coconut. Worth a stop but not wildly exciting.
