Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This national park is especially famous for the dark sky observations. We went there in the early night and spent several hours looking at the stars, it was truly amazing experience. Must do for city people who don't get a chance to see such sight due to high light pollution. Definitely recommend a trip when you're around.

We stayed in Snina and wanted to make a hiking trip in the Polininy national park.
The day we were there, the weather was not so good, but we made a hiking trip to Sninsky Kamen; The hike through the forest was nice, but unfortunately there was rain and fog and at the top, we thus missed the view that should have been overwhelming.
Towards the evening weather was better and we had a drink on big square in the city center. Big square in this small town which is not used to see a lot of tourists. The visit to the post office was an experience on its own, trying to buy some stamps...
Overall, we could sniff the atmoshpere of this remote, eastern part of the country, close to the 3 countries-border with Ukrain and Poland.

This is an ideal place for backpackers who can take care of themselves. Do not expect luxury restaurants, souvenir shops or any guided tours. So it is important to prepare yourself carefully (e.g. it is not a rule that afternoon you will get a bread in local grocery store or that there are lunches served in the inns. So take with you what you may really need.
But the result of the trip could be amazing. Nature is really not too much touched by tourists. If you wan t to observe dark skies - this is an ideal place. Of course, having in mind weather forecast. And watch the forecasts also before hiking into the mountains. There are no shortcuts for return - and the tours are pretty long.

Hi, I'm planning on going mid September for stargazing and I was wondering if there is a particular place where I can take pictures and watch the stars where it is safe and I don't have to worry about bears or any wild animals? If so, is it free or do I have to pay tickets? and what time does it close? Thanks

Hello
I'm planning to go Poloniny in mid may, but I have some questions.
i will visit Slovakia for 7 days, and the planning is something like that:
Day1- Bratislava > Bojnice
Day2- Bojnice > Poprad
Day3- Poprad > Vysoke Tatry
Day4- Vysoke Tatry > Poprad
Day5- Poprad > Spiš Castle > Poloniny
Day6- Poloniny > Košice
Day7- Košice > Wien
I want to go Poloniny is because there is a nice place to see the night sky and animal.
So here are the questions:
1) will this plan too rush?
2) is there any public transportation form Spiš Castle to Poloniny, and in Poloniny where is the nice place to stay at night to see the night star and Milky Way?
3) is there any hiking trail recommend in Poloniny?
4) public transportation form Poloniny to Košice?
Thanks:)
