Fun for the whole family
Jul 2020
We drove to Sankt Englmar by car, parked it a bit underneath and then walked up. The park itself is free to enter, and a lot of attractions are free as well.

When you walk up, the first thing you spot is the Motorik-Wiese, or motor meadow. This area is more or less a playground for training your motoric abilities. People of all ages can use this area freely.

There were also some booths, selling sweets, hats, masks and wooden decorations.

A bit further are more areas for smaller children, a petting zoo, an indoor playground, bumper boats, and a lot more. Most of this park seems to be catered to families or smaller children, but there was still plenty and fun things for us to do as well.

We first tried the water tire slide, where you can slide down for 1€ per person. Don’t worry, you won’t get wet here, but it’s definitely a lot of fun!

Next we headed to the beer garden and the restaurant, where my mother sat down and enjoyed a cool drink. I tried the fries, which I thought were a tad expensive for 4,20€. The rest of the food, however, looked good and also seemed to be reasonably priced.

Afterwards we bought the chips (you need one per ride per person) we needed for the rollercoaster, the bayerwald coaster and the bayerwald bob. We bought 6 of them which costs 14,50€.

The first ride we tried was the rollercoaster called ‘da voglwuide Sepp’. The track is 755 metres long, rushing up and down the hill. The ride itself is fun and is suitable for the entire family, as children can ride this once they’re 4 years old (but need someone older to accompany them).

The Bayerwald Coaster is on the other side of the staircase and it’s an all-weather track railway , built on stilts. It’s 1000 metres long and two people can ride this one. Kids can ride it from 3 years up, but under 8 they need to have a chaperon riding with them

This ride was a lot of fun, and rushing downwards with max 40 km/h is great!

A bit further is this tower, from which you can take the 300 metre long Bayerwald Fox. But you can also get down quickly in one of the slides. These slides are free to use, and if you’re hungry then you can get a snack or a crepe right here

Or you can play minigolf for 2€ per person

All in all this park is suited fort he entire family, and there is a lot to do for the kids. There’s not as much for older ones, but we still had a lot of fun and I’m really glad that we stopped by.

Just enjoy it! Kids love it

You have to pay per ride, which is a bit special, but gives you the possibility to "test" first. At the end we did all the rides and our 7 years old kid had a lot of fun with all of them. I recommend to go in the morning as in the afternoon you have more queuing and potential slower rides ;-)

Stopped on our way back for a quick joy ride. Prices are reasonable, parkung is free and there is plenty to do. Shame we didn't have more time.

Top entertainment for young and old

Had some fabulous hours here! You don't pay an entrance fee but pay per use. Kids had a blast trying the various rodel-tracks, even in the rain!

Roller coaster with the most beautiful views
Jun 2016 • Family
Althou my kids didn't notice it too much, the view here is breathtaking. The activities here are suitable for many ages, my 3 and 8 yr olds had equally fun. We were there on a Monday, no local kids around and a bit rainy weather, so no queuing at all.
The roller coaster is great for grown ups too!
Everything was tidy and clean, I hope this is the case also in high season.

Could be a good skiing location--if there were enough snow ...

I have been to St. Engelmar on numerous occasions and have often had to travel there in the midst of winter "in search of snow"--the weather over the past few years has been less than reliable although the ski runs as such on the Pröller mountain are perfectly nice.

A couple of RodelBahns to choose from, great fun trying to beat your previous speed, at 2.50 Euro/ride, not near as expensive as the one up on Mt. Pilatus in Luzern.

Also some zip lines and climbing activities.

Restaurant on location where you can get a brat, and no charge to use the WC. Was a week day in the fall, so not busy at all, imagine that there may be lines in the summer.

Fun for tots to teens
Jul 2014 • Family
Took the panoramic bus tour from near our hotel in St Englmar to this "theme park", about 25 mins away. The bus is great - a family ticket costs about 13 euros and you can hop off and on at the various stops. It also goes to the other main attraction in the area, the WaldWipfelWeg. The two summer toboggan runs in the park are fantastic and the rides are very reasonable value for money. In fact the charges for most activities are reasonable and many, such as the playgrounds, giant slides, observation tower, petting zoo, etc. are free. On an exposed hillside and very little cover, lovely on a nice day but imagine it could be nasty in inclement weather. Kept our two teens happy for 4 hours and we didn't actually do some of the activities, such as tubing, bumper boats, etc. Good quality, reasonably priced food and drink available from the café too. Nowhere near as commercialised as UK theme parks - no music blaring, no smell of hot dogs/candy floss/fast food hanging in the air, no pushing/shoving/shouting/swearing - just the sound of families having fun. No queues at all when we arrived at 10.30, 30 minutes after opening time; queues of about 5 minutes when we left mid-afternoon.
