About
Kota-Husky is small family enterprise in Posio. Our home is right next to the Riisitunturi national park where we do our safaris in very unique landscape. We use only dog power in our safaris, so you really can enjoy the silence of the nature.

We had a tour with 2 families inclusing small children. We went at the begining of April and the conditions were still fantastic, Good tracks and good snow. The experience was fantastic. We (the adults) drove ourself. The owners showed us how to do it and accompanied us, taking good care that all was safe.
The oweners were very helpful and friendly and treated us to some traditional snacks and drinks, and a tour and explanarion of the facilities and the dogs. They also helped us by lending us some boots and coats for the children. All in all a must if you are in the area.

A-MA-ZING
What a great experience. Wild and so cool place. We came here with our little boy of 3 years old. He was totally on fire with the dogs, the snow, the sled. Everything was well organized. We got a super fluffy sleeping bag in addition of the blanket in the sled.
All the staff was really professionnal and take care of our boy.
After the 10 km run we had a snack in the hut with a fire. Was a cool Time to share with others people before visiting the kennels.
We had great time running the sled and the landscapes was stunning.
Choose Kota-Husky and not the mainstream excursion of your resort.

Lauri is a true Husky enthusiast. From puppies to retirees, they are loved, trained and pampered and everyone has their own playground. The setting of the nature reserve is the ideal place to discover dog sled driving! We would dream of making it our daily means of transportation, a real joy! Thank you to the whole team for your welcome 🙏

We just came back from the „2 days as a Musher“ tour. What a incredible experience with such friendly and happy dogs.
And Lukas was a very skilled guide.
And the remote cabin was more comfortable than expected😉
The dogs at Kota Husky are very well taken care of.
Lauri and his entire team are doing a great job.

This is really an unmissable adventure if you are in Finland in the winter. Lauri’s passion for his animals is clear and it is wonderful to just spend time with the huskies even when not sledding. I highly recommend taking a longe trip into Riisitinturi if you can - the change in scenery is breathtaking. Driving a sled is much harder than it looks but great fun to have a go! The dogs are probably used to inexperienced drivers and will see you right! Dress warmly and make sure you cover up with their blanket…. The dog go to the toilet…. a lot…..at speed…. right at face level 😳

We went on the 10KM husky safari, each with our own sled with four huskies.
The entire experience was amazing. We were met with the owner who explained important matters to take into account and about how to use the sled and communicate with the dogs. In the meantime you can hear the dogs impatiently yelling at us to hurry up. After getting used to the sled, the owner took us on a fantastic ride through gorgeous landscape. Afterwards you are allowed to cuddle with the dogs (please do!! They are incredibly sweet and will literally force your attention and love😂).
After some time with the dogs, you get glögi and a homemade Finnish cake around a campfire in a tipi where one of the guides of the trip tells you a bit more about the company and the dogs.
After warming up, you get a tour of the kennels and you get to pet some more dogs.
Would 100% recommend doing this!

We did the 30 km trip on Saturday 22nd Feb with temperatures just around the -1 mark with several feet and even meters of snow around the national park.
Was a real escape into the wilderness. We were fortunate to have been part of a small group (6 adults including guide and 2 children approx 10 yrs old).
This is amazing experience for us all and our daughter (10) loved the whole trip from the moment of stepping foot inside Kota Husky and being met by very friendly dogs and staff the smile is still with her even though we are back home now. A memory that will be treasured for a lifetime.
It truly is a magical place to visit and the dogs are treated likely family members, the noise they make as you approach the sleds is just joyful to hear and they are so eager to get underway.
The landscape in wintertime is mesmerizing.
Thank you to all at Kota Husky for such a wonderful time.

We did a two day husky safari with Lauri on our first day in Lapland. It was a private tour with just the two of us and Lauri as a guide. An experience we’ll never forget! The park is beautiful, the dogs are amazing and Lauri is an amazing guide and person. He knows all his 90 dogs by name and treats them very well! We slept in the wilderness hut which was very nice with a private sauna. Lauri prepared all the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) which were delicious! In short: the two day husky safari at Kota Husky is a wonderful experience which anyone who is going to Lapland should do!
Big shout out to Kello, Touhi, Serious, Karna, Kinos, Terwa, Kippiena, Hongo, Pumba, Hoppe and Pihka! Sweetest dogs in Lapland.

We made a 30km trip in beautiful Riisitinturi national park. This trip included lunch and dessert and they were both so good! It is nice that you can drive the sledge by yourself and the group is small.
It was nice that after the trip the guide take us to watch all the huskys and how they live. Every dog has a name (there is over 80 huskys) and they know and obey their names. You see that in this place they take really good care on the dogs and really love them. And huskys love to run and pull the sledge!!
