We went on the 10KM husky safari, each with our own sled with four huskies.
The entire experience was amazing. We were met with the owner who explained important matters to take into account and about how to use the sled and communicate with the dogs. In the meantime you can hear the dogs impatiently yelling at us to hurry up. After getting used to the sled, the owner took us on a fantastic ride through gorgeous landscape. Afterwards you are allowed to cuddle with the dogs (please do!! They are incredibly sweet and will literally force your attention and love😂).
After some time with the dogs, you get glögi and a homemade Finnish cake around a campfire in a tipi where one of the guides of the trip tells you a bit more about the company and the dogs.
After warming up, you get a tour of the kennels and you get to pet some more dogs.
Would 100% recommend doing this!

Our husky adventure was on Christmas day 2022! What a Christmas day! It was amazing.
Loved every moment.....It was very very cold though. We had friends tell us that the husky ride would be the coldest we would ever be. They weren't wrong. We had all our layers, plus the overall's supplied and blankets and my daughter was still in tears at the half way point with cold toes (until she climbed in under the blanket with me).
Well cared for dogs, brillant 20km track. Pats afterwards and snacks and drinks by the fire afterwards.
This is the best experience and I am so glad we took the time to travel out of the main Rovemieni area to experience Kita-Husky.
Cheers :)

This is really an unmissable adventure if you are in Finland in the winter. Lauri’s passion for his animals is clear and it is wonderful to just spend time with the huskies even when not sledding. I highly recommend taking a longe trip into Riisitinturi if you can - the change in scenery is breathtaking. Driving a sled is much harder than it looks but great fun to have a go! The dogs are probably used to inexperienced drivers and will see you right! Dress warmly and make sure you cover up with their blanket…. The dog go to the toilet…. a lot…..at speed…. right at face level 😳

What a superb way to enjoy the Finnish countryside at midsummer…! Kota-Husky organized two special days for us with their collection of eighty-plus sled dogs — one afternoon spent meeting the dogs and helping to keep their enclosures clean and watered, and a second morning hiking off-trail with two sled dogs in Riisitunturi National Park. Both days included snacks and chocolate! The dogs are exuberant and friendly and exceedingly well-cared for, and good company for the humans who swoop in for a day or two to learn about their lives as working dogs. We additionally spent two nights in Kota-Husky’s fabulous cabin on a lake on the outskirts of the park: no running water but full of charm and all of the amenities that a well-built, well-designed Finnish cabin can bestow on its lucky occupants, including a wood-fired sauna! Our hearty thanks to Kota-Husky for giving us a visit to remember: we will always treasure meeting you and the dogs and having the privilege of two nights in an authentic Finnish mökki!

20km Safari.
Dogs are well treated and enjoy what they are doing. It's obvious that they are really important for Lauri and his team and not just a mean to earn their life.
Really fun experience, easy to apprehend.
We had really motivated dogs ! (sometimes needed to brake even when going uphill !!!)
Instantly fell in love with Mars, what a really beautiful readhead husky (never seen before).
We really enjoyed it !
Thanks Naali Loge who organised the safari during our full week stay.
Thanks Lauri, Catherine & Thierry

We did a two day husky safari with Lauri on our first day in Lapland. It was a private tour with just the two of us and Lauri as a guide. An experience we’ll never forget! The park is beautiful, the dogs are amazing and Lauri is an amazing guide and person. He knows all his 90 dogs by name and treats them very well! We slept in the wilderness hut which was very nice with a private sauna. Lauri prepared all the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) which were delicious! In short: the two day husky safari at Kota Husky is a wonderful experience which anyone who is going to Lapland should do!
Big shout out to Kello, Touhi, Serious, Karna, Kinos, Terwa, Kippiena, Hongo, Pumba, Hoppe and Pihka! Sweetest dogs in Lapland.
