Nature trail with sobering history
Sep 2021
A beautiful 1.2 km trail with a sobering history along the northern end of the Salpalinja, a massive undertaking after the Winter War to build an anti-tank defence line of huge boulders. Along the trail there are couple of restored look-outs/guard posts. In autumn, the colours of the wetlands/forest scenery were lovely. Some of the boards on the boardwalk were not in the best condition, so in wet weather it could be a bit challenging. There are also beautiful views over the lake Sarvilampi from the bird observation tower close to the carpark across the trail.
