I like Himos SkiResort for recriational boarding and skiing. Good fun for the whole family. Slopes/pistes from green to black. Draglifts and chairones. For little kids "beltlift". Good restaurants with variations of services.

Off season skiing
Mar 2019
Visited for a long weekend
Even if snow was gone in the surroundings the slopes where in perfect conditions
All slopes open, lifts open, no crowds
Happy skiing
Syperb in the mornings, little bit slushy in the afternoon
So, wake up early, get on the slopes ⛷
Off season means also not that good selection of bars, diners etc....

A tolerant venue for a first time English skier.

This was a great place to start my skiing adventures, with accessible nursery slopes and friendly teaching staff. The bigger slopes sated the appetite of my friends, whilst giving me something to aim for. Good rental packages meant I was able to fall over in reasonable gear, and get up again, and one of the few remaining smoke saunas in Finland was a particular highlight. Good extra-curricular activities for kids, all round a good winter destination.

Good for family and beginners
Dec 2017
We went in the beginning of season so only a few slopes were open, hence it was a bit overcrowded and queues for rental and tickets long. Very quick service at cafe, nice hill for kids.

Probably best slopes in southern Finland

If you don't have time go to Northern Finland, then Himos is the place to visit for downhill skiing. However, note that in early season only few slopes might be open (yet full ski pass price).

Himos is a quality option for a long weekend ski or snowboard trip from Tallinn
Mar 2017 • Family
It is a good option if you are located near Tallinn and want to spend few days on quality ski slopes. It was rather convenient to get to Himos from Tallinn. We started early Friday morning, drove with car on the earliest boat from Tallinn to Helsinki at 7.30. From harbour of Helsinki, it´s approximately 3-hour car drive to Jäsmä, Himos. Therefore, we arrived still early and could spend the rest of the day on the slopes + rest of the weekend. Most of the slopes were open until 8 p.m.
The resort was very popular at the weekend, especially on Saturday. Then there were additional lifts open and many people visiting.
Friday and Monday however, it was perfect - there were no lines at the lifts, very few people and all the slopes were in perfect condition. By the end of the evening, I could still find spots on the slopes where no one had ridden that day.
Most of the ski lifts are T-bars and a few button lifts. In addition, one chair lift was working during all days. There are no supporting ropes or etc. near the lifts for snowboarders.
For accommodation, the nearest and most convenient was to book the small cottage at resort. These cottages are located at the root of the slopes and we could go the lifts by foot.
In Estonia, there are no similar big ski resorts with many long and good quality slopes. Therefore, it is probably one of the nearest place to go from Tallinn for quality riding.

Nice place for few days' visit
Feb 2017 • Family
Located rather conveniently not too far up north, easy to access by car and also train. Lots of accommodation nearby the slopes. This time the slopes were in excellent condition and although there are not that many of them, one can easily spend three-four days skiing them. OK restaurants for food, but no after ski action at any of the bars, although the weather was nice and people in the vacation mood! Good slopes also for beginners.

The best ski resort in southern part of Finland
Feb 2017 • Couples
Stopped here on the way to Helsinki. Very nice day to do some slalom skiing. Good variation of slopes. Few more challenging black slopes and slopes you can do some hopping and tricks. Others were red or blue slopes. Good variation of ski lifts. To chair lifts also where you can take a break while going up.
Many restaurants on the area also up on the slopes. Also places you can grill sausages and eat your own food.
You can rent a cottage or stay in a hotel on the area.

The slopes aren't so high and long as in northern Finland but definitely the best choice in this area!
