Disclaimer: Many news articles suggest that trekking is with permission only. Though we were lucky to not get hassled by anyone and there were quite a bunch of people climbing. However please check. Its a huge hude monolith (a single piece of rock). Just the sheer size of a single rock is exciting. The trek needs a level of fitness... More

Very steep hill. Not the place for beginners. Would rate the difficulty level as medium. Take plenty of water, chocolates and good shoes. Take packed food as there are no good food options nearby. You get water at top of the hill at Rs.80 for half litre!! The whole trip will take 3-4 hrs. 2-3 hours uphill and 1-2 hrs... More

It's a good place if you love to climb mountains and love exercising. The hill is steep and some positions. Take lot of water bottles with you.

Its quite near from Bangalore just 60 KMs, from the Mysore road you will take the village road its quite good to see the green farm fields and the forest area. I went der with my friends. Good place to trek and test your stamina. But beware when u r going with ur bike. Somebody hit my bike's petrol tank with brick and my bike got ugly scratch.

Once you reach here after long driving on the beautiful road and see the hill you will say , this is scary i am not gonna climb here. best time is early morning to get over the mountain , reach the basava tomb . awesome view nice breeze .. must watch it ... to see a sunrise .

Forest dept has put boards and stopped people from climbing savandurga. Also the town has started charging 20Rs for entry. they are not telling people that savandurga trek is closed and fleece people who visit the town.

We reached there around 7 am via RR dental college. 55 km from B.G road. Unexpectedly steep trek. We were there with3 kids 3-7 yr old. And a 55 yr old. We made them climb with a lot of enthu without thinking as to how to come back. We went till the top Nandi temple but the kids stayed at... More

We travelled to Savan Durga on the 6th Aug 2016. however we were not allowed to trek you need prior permission from the forest department if you wish to trek to Savan Durga .A security personnel is appointed to restrict people from trekking due to the recent incidents at Savan Durga. So please check before venturing out to Savan Durga
