Tourist trap
May 2021 • Friends
My greatest pleasure in visiting this factory was when it was closed. 😂
There was not a single person on the street, the gates to the courtyard were open, the samovar was still smoking, the brick path gleamed after the rain, it smelled deliciously of marshmallow. You are imbued with the spirit of this ancient city and place, transported 100 years ago.
When we came here the next day, the experience was completely different. Crowds of people, schoolchildren, a huge queue for an extremely expensive marshmallow - a small stick for 50 rubles. in short, generally a common tourist trap. You leave 500 - 600 rubles and move on. You can try ice cream, I liked the bread
There are no measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19: there is no thermometry at the entrance, the requirement to observe social distance is just ridiculous! A crowd of people in small, cramped rooms,
Wear a mask? Don't tell me, the staff is wearing Russian outfits that don't include a mask.
Hand antiseptics? Did not heard...
In general, there is a double impression…

The place is quite nice, you can buy tasty souvenirs there, but it’s often crowded and the prices are kinda unreasonable

Kolomna Pastila Factory Museum
Feb 2019 • Family
Everybody told us to visit this museum when I mentioned we would be in Kolomna, and with such enthusiasm that it quite puzzled me. I mean, I like sweets and all, but... However, we followed their advice and they were right! Immersive, interactive and charming. The tour is in Russian though.

Near Shevlyaginskaya Basseyka
Sep 2018 • Solo
Museum factory of marshmallow for 7 years is located in the building of the former merchant Peter Chuprikov's Candy-pastille institution, overlooking the famous "Shevlyaginskaya Basseyka". On the territory of the factory there is a garden where apples of special pastille varieties are grown, a yard, a barn, an ancient fruit storage and production. The existing devices, mechanisms, confectionery equipment presented in the museum are made according to the original drawings, and the pastille drying oven is folded in strict accordance with the archival documents.
In the interiors of the factory there are furniture, dishes, utensils, books and photos of the late XIX – early XX centuries.
It is not bad that during the tour you can participate in the process of pastille production and enjoy freshly cooked pastes in the living room. Of course, at the factory there is a pastry shop.
From what I did not like, I can note the strange behavior of the museum manager - some arrogant, sometimes even rude.

Museum Pastila Factory
Sep 2018 • Business
Museum Pastila Factory is a must if visiting Kolomna - what an interesting story was told about the destruction of the apple trees after the revolution, and how the associated crafts were all lost. I loved eating all the different pastille. ESPECIALLY the one with the meringue.

Great journey to the history of Colomna's pastila
Aug 2018 • Couples
The tour consist of several parts.
The first is a costume performance with the demonstration of traditional pastila's manufacturing.
A second part includes tea party with a degustation of different pastila's tasties.
A third part is a master-class of cooking a marshmallow accompanied with interesting stories about sweets.
And the final part concludes with another performance in the garden.

It look like musem of Colomna's pastila, but I had more fun!)

Definitely worth a visit! We do not speak Russian and the tour guides don’t speak much English but they found a way to give us a tour anyways. It was educational and the treats were delicious! We bought many goodies to bring home!
