Modern pyramid church

The New Church of Hyvinkää is a modernist building designed by architect Aarno Ruusuvuori. It was built in 1961.

The church is quite big. It is 32 meters high and has 630 seats.

The surface material looks quite dirty and I am sure there is a renovation coming soon. There were already some test samples on one side of the church.

Modern Architecture for a Church

This Church is a modern take on the Lutheran Churches. It's similar to the old structures in minimalism ( bedrock of the lutheran belief) and has good acoustics.

Great sight to see and photograph

This is the central church of Hyvinkää. It is located in the heart of the city on a hill. If you arrive from south on the Torikatu- street you see it sitting nicely in the end of the street behind crossing. There are plenty of parking space if you feel like walking around on a not-busy-night. This church is really spacious inside like a cathedral but hosts nicely Christmas time plays and concerts. Acoustics fit best for acoustic concerts and not too loud electrical music. Check the opening hours at the church's website.

Hyvinkää pyramid Church

One of Finland finest Curch is like a pyramid, white in colours, the light comes from the windows magnificently.
You should visit there.
