Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Interesting museum. The exhibition makes you understand the importance and advance of metal industry in Finland.

Great experience was to see the old restored iron melting facility. Located just next to the museum.

There are a hotel and cafe on site, too. However, due the pandemic the cafe was closed.

We visited this small museum after it had just re-opened after corona restrictions. The museum is small an quaint and it complemented really well our visit to the near-by terrace restaurant (at the hotel "Karkkilan Tehtaan Hotelli"). The museum is next to an old blast furnace - this we were not able to visit, but apparently this will be possible in July. We're thinking we will re-visit later, as we will surely re-visit the terrace restaurant "Tammen Alla" (i.e. "Under the Oak") during the summer. The museum was on two floors and there was local and Finnish industrial history from 19th century to present times (in fact ... some of the pictures from 70s and 80s were really nice).

The museum as well as the restaurant and the hotel are in the area which served as accommodation for the tycoons and mill leadership of the old times, from the time when the old blast furnace was still operational. It's a really good idea to visit the museum on a sunny day, and spend time at the hotel surroundings and at the wonderful terrace restaurant. Alone the museum is ok, but combined with the overall setting, the experience was really good.
