This attraction can be reached by using the Metro to get to Placa Espanya and then taking the FSB (mainline train) to Colonia Guell. It is best booked online where you may get a discount and good directions are given on how to get there.

This small church designed by Gaudi but left unfinished is a gem. It is like entering a wood with lovely columns - all different - and seating designed by Gaudi and angled so that everyone faces the alter directly. Set in a pine wood it is located really near the Colonia Gaudi which is also well worth a visit. The... More

On the advice of a relative who recently visited, we to the train from Barcelona to Colonia Guell, The Gaudi crypt is stunning, and the whole place has a certain atmosphere about it, really quiet, well it is February, and quite enjoyable.

If it is a Gaudi creation it has to be good and worth your time to see it. This time it is an irregular oval church and crypt built in basaltic stone bricks. I liked the ceramic composition on the upper part of the door.

The short little walk thru the woods between the train stop and the Colony was so dear. I picked up a piece of broken tile from the forest floor, imagining it from the church. There was a wedding going on the day I visited and got to celebrate mass with the party and took the Eucharist in this most sacred... More

A short train ride from Barcelona, nearly no tourists, an amazing beautiful tiny church. The museum displays a movie about its history, restoration and Gaudi's work on it, very informative and fascinating. I was privileged to enjoy a rehearsal to a concert. Was truly stunning. A nice few hours away from crowded Barcelona. On Saturday there's a small farmers market.... More

We enjoyed our visit to this model town. The Crypt is an incredible display of Gaudi's vision up close. Where the Sagrata Familia continues to be built though other architects' interpretation, this crypt is all Gaudi. The little museum is very interesting. It talks about the people who were working and living in the town. Guell, the factory owner, was... More

This was an interesting place to visit by my least favorite. It cost more money for the cab ride just to get there.

A short train ride from Pl Espanya this is a remarkable model town where Guell sited his. Factory away from the troubled city. He provided healthcare and facilities for his employees to make corduroy and velvet in a clean environment. The crypt is amazing although left unfinished by Gaudi. What is better is to look at the other building which... More

Very interesting, mainly outdoor, attraction out of Barcelona. To get there you need to board the train from Espanya station - fallow the signs for Monserrat train. Only trains with 'S' at the front will stop at Colonia Guell (S33,S8). I needed my ID to get audio guide, as you walk around the whole village. I went to see the... More
