We have been with Piak for a 2D2N tour around Mae Sariang. On the agenda: visiting Piak's projects (he looks like a serial entrepreneur), hiking trough the fields with him and his little daughter, meeting his friends and family, helping with agriculture and enjoying the regional highlights. Piak is the perfect cultural bridge between tourists and the Karen people and... More

We visited Mae sariang as our first stop on the Mae Hong son loop. Originally we had been planning on doing a hike later in our journey around pai, however when we were looking at things to do in Mae sariang we saw that trekking with Piak was very highly reviewed. We decided to add an extra days stay in... More

My wife and I contacted Piak through the "Above the Sea Maesariang" Hotel opposite the river. He met with us to determine exactly what we were looking for so that the tour would cater for that. The tour more than met our expectations. We trekked through a variety of landscapes and met some very interesting people. Piak is very passionate... More

I can only join the choir in praising Piak and the tour he provides. He was very flexible when we decided to scale down our plans to just a 1D tour as we felt we needed some rest. We've got lots of insights about how Karen people live and adapt to the developments of the 21st century while sticking to... More

We have stumbled upon Piak at Above the Sea Maesariang guesthouse. We were picking up our scooter there and Piak asked if we needed some tips on what to see in the area. We have read about Piak Private Tours on TA so we knew he is running a trekking business. He was not trying to sell anything to us,... More

We had a one night two day private tour with Piak. The positives of this trip was the hospitality and friendliness of the karen people who we encountered. Though don't expect traditional clothing. It was more an example of how hill tribe people are adapting to the 21st century rather than a glimpse into the past. The food that Piak... More

If you are after an authentic glimpse of how the Karen people really live, we would highly recommend you take a tour with Piak. On the night before the trek, Piak came to our hotel where he sat with us and planned out an excursion based on our interests and what we wanted to see. It took him no time... More

Piak's approach is to offer an undistorted and genuine experience, a sort of sustainable eco-tourism with interaction with local people on an equal footing. He shares his knowledge on everything from local customs to the flora and fauna of Mae Sariang. We had an unforgettable trekking through the jungle and lunch with local farmers in a hut beside a field.... More
