This temple is on a small hillock tucked away from the road. It is of the six temples for Lord Murugan. It requires one to climb steps to access the temple. It is quite serene up the stair and nice place for darshan

Situated near Kumbakonam, TN India, Swamimalai is 4th Padaiveedu (Divine Home) of 6 Padaiveedu(s) of Lord Muruga..this place is important because the son, Lord Muruga, taught "Pranavamandiram" (Ohm) to his father, Shiva.

This is one of the six houses (known as Arupadai veedu) of Lord Swaminatha Swami). Even though it is known as Malai (meaning hill) it may have maximum 100 steps from ground level to the mandir. Generally not much crowded except on special occasions.
