We had visited this beautiful pink temple dedicated to Lord Vittal and Devi Rukmini during our sightseeing in Kumbakonam. We had gone by car to visit this temple at Govindapuram about 13 km from MahaMaham tank area in Kumbakonam. We found that gopuram of this temple showcases North Indian style of architecture. It is built mainly by a single untiring devotee Sri Sri Vittal Maharaj-Grandson of famous Namasankkethana Samrat Sri Anantharama Deekshethar. Sri Vittal Maharaj built this grand structure through donations he collected during his Namasankeethanams through out India. He is also a great follower of Sri Haridas Giri Gurji.... More

I have visited several times to this temple. This temple is like PANDARIPURAM PANDURANGA temple. Here they maintain a ko sala ( Pasu Madam ) with more than 500 cows. People allowed to visit and worship. Donation accepted.
