Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hevoshaan Arboretum is situated in Sippola (address Silmuntie 140), about 30 kilometers from the city center of Kouvola. This is a quite nice arboretum (a botanical garden devoted to trees). Trees have been planted mainly in the 1930's and some of them in the 2000's. There isn't any admission fee and it is easy to walk along a marked path. However, I prefer Arboretum Mustila, which is located in the former municipality of Elimäki (nowadays it belongs to the city of Kouvola), about 25 kilometers from the city center of Kouvola. Hevoshaan Arboretum isn't as as big and as diverse as Arboretum Mustila.

Hevoshaan Arboretum in Sippola, Kouvola, is one of the largest (25 hectares) arboretums in Finland. The arboretum is free and it is open 24/7. You find about 20 full-grown tree species there. They grow in spinneys and they aren't just individual specimens. Some foreign tree species have been planted there as early as in 1888 and thousands of seedlings were planted in 1928. In the creek valley you also find some creepers and bushes, e.g. some Rhododendron species. Larches are especially beautiful in autumn.
There has been a forestry school in the area but nowadays it is closed. Now a Finnish forestry industry company named UPM owns the area and unfortunately the arboretum seems to be increasingly dilapidated every year. Many signs of paths and information boards of tree species have decayed and fallen down. A nature trail named Sippolan Aarnipolku starts next to the arboretum and runs in a beautiful old forest. Unfortunately there has been a storm there and at the moment the trail is full of fallen trees.
Hevoshaan arboretum isn't any nice attraction but this may be a fantastic destination if trees are your serious hobby. For tourists I recommend Arboretum Mustila, which is much more beautiful and offers better services (clearly marked trails and even a museum, a cafeteria and wood sculptures). There aren't any services in Hevoshaan Arboretum. However, luckily UPM promises to maintain Hevoshaan Arboretum somehow in the future. I hope that they will rebuild all information boards and mark paths clearly. It would be a great cultural act.
