Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lot of fun. The chain swing rising high up to the sky makes your stomach turn around. Not very big park but good things.

We visit Tykkimaki (Tykkimäki) Amusement Park regularly. It is situated 4 kilometers from the city center of Kouvola, next to Tykkimaki camping site and Kayralampi (Käyrälampi) beach.
I think that Tykkimaki is the best amusement park for children (4-12 years) in Finland - and very good for everyone! Tykkimaki is very green and beautiful. It isn't too crowded. There are (almost) never long queues in Tykkimaki. The entrance to the area is free but of course you have to pay about rides and games. Only the outdoor playground is totally free.
There are also farm animals in Tykkimaki from late June to August. It is free to hug them and take care of them (e.g. sheep and rabbits).
There are over 40 rides and games in Tykkimaki. Star Flyer is the highest amusement park ride in Finland. It is 72 meters tall with a top speed almost 70 kilometers per hour!
The new ride for the summer 2012 will be Loop Fighter with a battle against gravity. It will be the only this kind of ride in the Nordic countries.
Kid's Pavilion is an indoor playground which is very good for rainy days. There are trampolines, bouncy castles etc. there.
If you want to visit a bigger amusement park, you should go to Linnanmaki in Helsinki.

It is a total rip off: you need to pay 29 euros just to enter the park. Ok, the rides are included too then, but travelling with small children that’s just not worth it. Avoid this park at least year 2020.

Hi,
Thank you for your review and feedback. The amusement park doesn’t have free entrance this year, due to the coronavirus situation. With this model, we can make sure that visitors who come to enjoy the amusement park rides can have a fun day, in a safe environment. We lowered the cost of the amusement park bracelet and it costs 27€ online and 29€ at the gates. The entrance fee includes rides, but also a petting zoo and miniature golf.
Thank you once again for your review and feedback.
All the best,
Tykkimäki amusement park

I've been there a few times with my nephew... okay, I'm well traveled and American... I have to say in my opinion and my experience... I've been to much better amusement parks. It's quite mediocre and over priced. Save your money. It's better to just enjoy the nature Finland has to offer.

We went to the park on a cloudy and slightly cold day. Perhaps that's the reason the park was not crowded at all, and most of the rides had no line at all.
The park is mostly for young children. The rides are nice and not too scary. There aren't too many rides for teenagers or adults.
We bought wristbands for all the family, but actually it was enough to get wristbands for the kids only.

Tykkimaki is an familial amusement park. Mostly designed for young children. Several rides for teenagers are available, but don't expect the super-duper-roller-coaster that will make you throw-away.
It's quite, and queues are nearly inexistant (yes, a dream today !!!).
Some attractions will bring back some souvenirs to the parents who will recognise refurbished ones from Linnanmaki (Helsinki).
The park is clean, and secure. With a good weather, you (and your kids) won't regret the day.

Very nicely located and green amusement park with good selection of entertainment and activities. Short ques and strong variety of entertainment as well for kids below school age in addition to youngsters. Strongly recommended.

Tykkimäki is a rather small amusement park, which seems to be targeted more to families with young children. The park area itself is quite modest and situated amongst pine trees. The cafeterias and restaurants are average. The food offered is mainly hamburgers, pizzas and buffet. The good side was that it was not crowded. Probably the new Aqua Park is nice on sunny weather. As it was cold, we decided not to enter, as there is a separate fee for Aqua Park also.

There is only three good devices for adults,
this is definately more of children's place.
So if you got children, i recommend.
