After visiting World Heritage Site Verla near by, make small additional tour here. Art center is at old modern Church built in 1960s.
There is changing exhibition every year, so making it interesting place to visit annually. 2020 has limited opening, only July and present art from Pekka Halonen, Ferdinand von Wright and miscellaneous pieces from early 20th century.
Outside has Garden of Love, with sculptures.

Vuohijarvi Nature and Culture House (Vuohijärven luonto- ja kulttuuritalo) is situated in an old church (built in 1966), quite near to Repovesi National Park (Lapinsalmi entrance) and 35 kilometers from the city center of Kouvola.
This is a very interesting art center. They have a new exhibition every year. The artists of the year 2018 are the photographer Juha Taskinen, the underwater photographer Pekka Tuuri, the illustrator (the graphic designer) Sakke Yrjölä, the sculptor Samuli Alonen and the nature painter Seppo Polameri.
I especially loved Taskinen's photos about Saimaa ringed seals. The species is one of the most endangered seals in the world. It lives only in Finnish Lake Saimaa and the total population is less than 400 individuals. Fish paintings, other nature paintings and underwater photos were extremely interesting, too.
The only negative thing is that there is too much sun light in some places so that it is quite hard to watch those beautiful photos and paintings. The house isn't very big but the exhibition is very good. They also have a small garden and a cafeteria. By the way, there is also a small grocery next to Vuohijarvi Nature and Culture House. So you can buy a picnic lunch from there, too.
I highly recommend this exhibition. The nice museums of the municipality of Mantyharju (Mäntyharju) are also very near. So it could be a good idea to visit them on the same journey.

This art center has peaceful atmosphere with regular exhibitions of famous artists. We were surprised that this kind of high level Art Centrum is found outside big city!
