A quaint town
Feb 2020
It was all worth the trip from Pisa to visit this historical centre which lies midway between Florence and Pisa. It is a quiet place - on top of a hill - the views it offers are magnificent.

This small town on top of the hill is special , I was surprised by its beauty and look forward to bring my wife. Good time to visit is in a weaken last part of November when the truffle festival is on.

For me it was perfect
Aug 2019
This is not a town overwhelmed by tourists . We arrived near the top by lift from the car park .there was a lovely old church with a little church with a church museum .i loved the paintings in the church museum and there is a tower. My husband enjoyed the tower but as the last part has iron steps you see through i didn't make the last part as for some reason i become afraid of heights when i can see through the steps . The lady called the people who run the taller tower and apparently the steps are wooden but by then we were a little tired ,please note entry to the attractions we visited were FREE for the over 65 s , i found the people so friendly ,i can not comment on restaurants as they did not open while we were there, we found a lovely small caffe with local prices and pastries, this is not siena nor pisa but if in the area worth a couple of hours

Buongiorno
Aug 2019 • Friends
Nice people living here: smiling and saying buongiorno to strangers:)
Only for that reason it’s worth to visit the village.
Also nice church from XI century.
Apart from that nothing else

interesting village

Had a spare afternoon so visited San Miniato. Really off the tourist route as there were very few there, mostly locals. Worth a visit if you are passing and want to spend a couple of hours, but not worth a trip specific to see it.

Be prepared for uphill walking
Apr 2019 • Couples
We arrived about mid day and needed to park a little distance away in a free zone. The old town stretches quite a distance but it is really a worthwhile place to spend half a day. Make sure you walk all the way up to the tower of Frederick 2. There are beautiful views for 360 degrees from here.

Amazing panoramas
Jun 2018
Small picturesque Tuscany town on a hill. Perfect panoramas around. Poor parking space. Somewhere else to be a No. 1 tourist attraction. In Tuscany - one of hundred. But anyway, worth to see.

Very charming Toscany town

Much smaller than the more famous towns/cities, but so charming! Worth a detour, in less than an hour you have enjoyed the charms of the town.

San miniato is small but perfectly formed. We stayed there for 1 night . It is on the Via Francigena.
it is an ancient hill town so there are lovely views over the Tuscan countryside from the edge of town
