The bluest of skies, the finest of sand, the turquoise blue waters, and stunning views everywhere. This is a great place to hang out and enjoy Mother Nature.

Lovely bay and views here. Sea was fresh but beautiful and the cafe and rock area were great! Good afternoon out.

The garden of the stones!

What an amazing place. Piece of heaven. It's a surprise to see a beach like this. Full of art and heart. The stones are in perfect balance between them and also give that balance to us! It's an amazing experience even without going to the water!

Riverside beach

The water is cold! But lovely for a dip if you are a confident swimmer. The sand is so fine, it’s great. It was windy so a parasol and wind breaker are useful.

Riverside beach.

Praia do Farol is more of a riverside beach where the ocean and Mira River join forces. There is a lovely stretch of sand on the north side of the river which morphs to rocky tables reaching out to the sea. Just a short walk from the town the beach is a great place to spend an afternoon recuperating from sightseeing. If you take the ferry across the river to the south side you can lounge oceanside on Praia das Furnas. Worth a stop simply to drink in the views.

Short stop for resting on the beach

We stopped here for a resting point on our way to Lisbon. Most beaches on west coast are high waves and strong current and this beach also offers calm and shallow water for swimming for families with babies.

For the sunset

A bit more open to the sea, the stream here is really powerful. After the lighthouse, there are a lot of rocks on the beach, so not the best place to swim, but great for a sunset!
