Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This museum consists of a couple of houses that kigger in a square. In that main building there are some exhibitions, but it's not that interesting. However, the two old houses are a bit away more worth seeing. There is also a nice garden.

We were in town on opening day. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. It is a small museum but is interesting and well organized. The price of 4 Euro is nominal to keep such a important piece if history alive. We particularly liked the building in the back set up as historical rooms. In order to attract more foreigners it would be helpful if the signs describing the museum artifacts were also in English. I believe they are currently in Finnish and Swedish. Even a small brief paper sign giving a 1-2 sentence explanation would be helpful and increase the learning experience for international tourists.

Not a particularly interesting museum and very few explanations in English. Girl at the ticket desk wasn't very helpful.

This museum is situated in two separate places (Hiilola and Humppi) on the outskirts of the same square. You may visit both of them with one ticket.
Hiilola is the old house and the yard of a merchant family. This historical complex of buildings tells an emotional story about living in Naantali in the 19th century.
Humppi is a more traditional museum and it includes archaeological items, stories about the history of Naantali nunnery and monastery (1443-1577) and special exhibits.
Humppi is quite small and I loved Hiilola more. However, both of them are worth visiting.

Beautiful are the three wooden buildings in which it is divided - on the style of the houses that make up the entire old town in which the museum is inserted, but the internal exhibition is nothing extraordinary, especially for a foreign visitor, who may find the two games at the entrance concerning the presidents of Finland amusing but impractical (one asking to place the portraits in chronological order of access to office, the other inviting to connect each of them to the favorite animal) and difficult to navigate because of the few explanatory captions in languages other than Finnish and Swedish.
