Nice small town close to slopes
Feb 2017 • Couples
town is small and quiet. Not many attractions for apres ski funs. Just a couple of restaurants.Good ski connection to main skiing area on Sestriere. Cross country track available. For guests with self accomodation - there is just one small store there.

Lovely little town

We wandered around the town in negative 15 degree temperatures , along the (frozen-over) stream. Pretty.

Nice ski area
Apr 2016
Pragellato is located about 5 km from Sestriere at 1600 m altitude. It has an extensive ski area with the Club Med giving direct access to the slopes. Very nice

Not just for skiing
Jun 2015 • Family
We had the opportunity to visit Pragelato when we were offered the use of a chalet out of season by a family member.Pragelato is close to Sestriere where the 2006 winter olympics were based and is just 17km from the French border.Obviously known for it's skiing facilities, being one of the biggest resorts in Italy, it is not really known for it's use in the warmer months of the year.We visited in June and were bowled over by the scenery, the great food and the friendliness of the place.Having our 8 year old daughter in tow we were happy to find the ski lift in operation which took us up the mountain so we just had to walk down again, which took about 2 hours. You must try the locally dish called Gofri, which are like large round waffles and served in both sweet and savoury versions. If you enjoy walking, there is plenty here for you.

Nice small village
Dec 2014 • Family
We have a house at Pragelato , where we spend time both in winter and summer . Very good for cross-country skiing , peaceful small village , most of the tourists coming only on daily visits or longer ones in summer . Very nice surroundings , with lot of small or abandoned villages easily reached by walks , wonderful landscapes , possibility to see wildlife in their natural habitat .

the area offers exceptionnal landscape. There is not much tourism, so it is very quiet. No possibility to go shopping and few cultural activities. excellent for nature discovery.

A little bit sleepier than other Ski resorts

You need to explore - there are some brillant bars & restaurants and the shops have amazing local produce. Everyone we met was really friendly & appreciated that we'd made the effort to leave our hotel.
