Showcasing the work of leading wildlife artist Robert E Fuller, this gallery is a must for anyone who loves the countryside. Mr Fuller spends months in the field watching and photographing wildlife and this depth of understanding makes his work sing out. Original oil paintings and bronze sculptures of wildlife all come to life through his inimitable, realistic style.

The gallery holds two exhibitions a year, at Christmas and during the summer. These usually involve falconry events for kids and nature tours so you can enjoy both the wildlife outside the gallery as well as the paintings of wildlife inside!

COMING SOON

Summer Exhibition “Bringing up Baby” Sat 3rd June – Sun 25th June

Weekday 9.30am-4.30pm Weekends 10.30am-4.30pm Free admission

From clucky ducks to pushy owls, this new series of paintings by Yorkshire wildlife artist Robert E Fuller reveals the wildly different ways animals bring up their broods. Painted in a precise, realistic style, the new art range includes TV screens streaming live footage from cameras hidden in the nests of garden birds, owls, weasel and stoats. These screens offer visitors to the show a direct window into the secret world of these creatures as they cope with the daily parenting challenges; from messy mealtimes to sibling rivalry.Video clips taken from footage gathered from these cameras have informed Robert Fuller's new collection of paintings and are on show alongside the artist's photographic studies of the different parenting styles of animals. Birdwatching walks and kids safaris to see badger cubs and owl chicks accompany the exhibition.

We visited whilst stopping in York for the weekend, we have wanted to go for some time and it didn't disappoint. The gallery is amazing with some reasonably priced items to purchase. We bought a limited edition print, it is awesome. For those looking for barn owls this place is a must. They also have prints of a variety of... More

Beautiful, sometimes striking paintings of wildlife in a spacious gallery. Ideal for buying that special gift. The arist is sometimes on hand to talk to.

A gallery well worth a visit. The approach along a narrow road set in the dales scenery is good preparation for the scenes depicted in the gallery of a great variety of wildlife seen in UK and abroad. The gallery is well laid out and there are plenty of small mementoes available for purchase and a large number of prints... More

Very knowledgable. Had some interesting things to say. We learnt things. However, just a suggestion to improve the delivery. He was always at the front and didn't gather people around so those at the back had difficulty I hearing. He would have been better with n the middle and addressed the group when all we're able to see and hear... More

We made a quick side trip while we in Yorkshire to the Robert Fuller Gallery. He wasn't around when we visited, but it was fun to see his work. I'm not personally a collector of wildlife art, so I only purchased a couple of post cards. I think anyone with a love of wildlife (mostly wildlife you'd find in the... More

The children loved learning about the red kites and enjoyed making a nest. They were amazed by the size of the birds and how many they could see. They enjoyed using the scope to view the birds

The fog was either an attraction that afternoon, converting the landscape into magical islands in the sea or a pain because it restricted visibility - but despite that it was a joy to be out in such a beautiful spot and see so many red kites in the same place. Not understanding their habits we hadn't realised that at this... More

Robert is a true wildlife enthusiast, passionate about his subject, both in delivering his talks and slideshows and in his art. His gallery makes you crave for more wall space at home and to be as equally talented with a camera. There is always a warm welcome here and it's always encouraging to know that any purchase, no matter how... More
