You could not fail to be impressed by the cliff lift, spend time to read the boards and appreciate how it works. The stained glass is beautiful and we were lucky enough to visit when Santa had his grotto in one tram and he was...More

This is an excellent example of Victorian seaside ingenuity. From the beach to the upper part of the town a ride is only £1. It is a real feature of Saltburn and is worth seeing.

I grew up here and have never yet travelled on this. What a shame. £1 gets you a one way trip. Courteous and friendly staff, beautifully restored. Shame it wasn’t slightly warmer and we had more time or we’d have made more of it.

Recently renovated and a bargain at £1. Great way to get back up the cliff and enjoy the view - and a bit of history.

No really, if you're a little bit geeky, or just interested in all things mechanical, you must ride this funicular. It's entirely powered by a water pump. Oh, and some gravity. A fine example of good solid victorian engineering. Absolutely fascinating.

This is our first visit to the forgotten old Victorian seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea and have to say that it’s lovely. Obviously the tramway is the quickest way to get up and down the cliff to the seafront and for £1 each way is priced...More

Unfortunately the Saltburn Cliff Tramway was out of service when we visited. We were a little bummed because when we drove up we were looking forward to have a ride in it. We did climb up to the top to see the gorgeous hill side...More
