Colobus Conservation was established in 1997 as a not-for-profit organisation to promote conservation of the colobus monkeys and address the threats to its survival. The organization works in partnership with local communities to promote the conservation of the colobus, along with other endemic primate species, and the unique coastal forest habitat on which they depend. Today Colobus Conservation programmes focus on habitat conservation and community linkages as well as human/primate conflict management, welfare, education and research. The objectives and work of Colobus Conservation is recognised internationally by AZA Colobus Species Survival Plan (SSP), Pan African Sanctuary Alliance (PASA) accreditation and are supported by well known conservationists Jonathon and Angela Scott through their role as Patrons.

The Diani Beach Colobus Conservation may not look like much at first sight, but it not only does a wonderful job but the staff are extremely passionate about what they do and that enthusiasm really comes through to the visitor. Funded entirely from the small charge made for guided tours (about £6/person) plus sales from the shop and donations, the... More

Thank you so much for your kind words. We are very happy you enjoyed your visit and got to see some of the wild monkeys. We are very fortunate to have a very passionate and hard working team and I am happy that this came across. We really could not continue our work without the support of people such as... More

My 8-year old daughter (who lives in Africa) thought that it was 'kind of boring'. It is a small plot of land with 2-3 varieties of monkeys. They are making an effort and doing some conservation work, which is good to support, but not too impressive.

Hi John, I am sorry that your daughter found the tour a little boring. We appreciate all feedback and continuously work to make sure tours are both enjoyable and informative. We are a small organisation but actively work in conservation within Diani, having several projects that focus on primate and human conflict. If you have further suggestions please contact us... It was a shame that we did not see any Colobus monkeys, but only baboons. LOL when we returned to our hotel, all the colobus monkeys were visiting and sitting in the rafters of the restaurant and reception.

Thank you for your feedback. As we are a conservation organisation we cannot guarantee that guests will be able to see the wild colobus but I am glad you got to see some at your hotel. We also find that when the baboons arrive at the centre all the other monkeys quickly disappear. I hope you still enjoyed your visit... More

They are doing great work for the local wildlife, protecting monkeys and taking care of other orphaned animals. Worth supporting!

It was incredible! The price was very reasonable and worth it. We walked around the information centre with a great guide and learnt a lot about the primates in Diani. Then we went for the tour. It was outside, recommend sunscreen. There was also a nice little nature walk. This tour was really informative and I urge you to go... More

Don't expect a state of the art facility with beautiful enclosures but what you will find are highly dedicated and knowlegable staff who go the extra mile. Tour will only take around an hour or so and don't forget the monkeys are all wild so sometimes may not be seen. Please help them by visiting as your entry fee will... More

A small sanctuary located in Diani beach doing great work to help support the lovely Colubus monkey .. On arrival you get chance to learn a little more about these creatures in their small education centre and then a guide will personally take you round outside to explain their work and to meet the various monkeys they have there ....
