About
The Town Square is the historical center of the town, with views to numerous historical buildings. The square has been designed as a modern urban space focussing on the buzz of the town center combined with different activities. The motifs of ring (võru - 'ring' in Estonian) have been used in the architectural planning and the use of urban furniture (architect Villem Tomiste).

This central square is newly renovated. Very modern with large "bowls" with flowers and one even with herbs+vegetables(!!!). Not far from this square are some original boutiques, real jewels of its kind. There are also some art studios, souvenir and antique shops worth visiting.
The two most interesting ones are Happy Nature Studio in 11A Liiva street and "Emmaroos" in Jüri street. The first has lovely, even gorgeous, redecorated(painted) pieces of furniture. The small shop has so many details one has to take time to see them.
The "Emmaroos" is another big surprise - not a flower shop but mainly handmade objects and inported clothes.
In Jüri street there is an art shop near "Emmaroos". Full of original Estonian art.
By the square are two interesting shopa."Karma" is so rich in old household objects, furniture, crockery etc etc.It is almost a museum. On the other side of the square there is a lovely souvenir shop. The church at the square is just a nice one to enter and have a quiet moment.

Jüri tänaval on jälle omapärane butiik "Emmaroos",kus palju käsitöötoodangut. Mõned majad edasi on väga rikkalik originaalkunsti pood - pildid, keraamika jne jne.
Väljaku ääres on "Karma".See lausa nagu muuseum, kuigi tegelikult pood. Teisel pool väljakut Tartu tänaval ilus suveniiripood mitmekesise kaubaga.

Nice place to go, great walk, urban architecture combines with old church’s surrounding. If you gets cold, Mom Cafee will warm up with delicious coffee

It is very photogenic area and it looks better on photos than in real life. Worth a walk with a camera!
