On arrival the staff were not welcoming. Inghams appeared to have advised ‘10 people’ so when couples didn’t want to be split up the staff were not very understanding. This did not start the experience well… then we went for the dog ride and there was no staff interaction and involvement - and although the northern lights didn’t show, it felt very rushed and not really an opportunity to see the lights as advertised… after the ride we had hot drink, cooked sausage and pancake, the lady was really friendly and nice. So for £150 each we felt disappointed by what was a very short excursion…

Booked a 2 hour husky nighttime safari , after half hour it was over and then expected to sit in a she’d free an hour and a half, we were told pick up wasn’t possible from our hotel And we had to go to a meeting point and eventually got picked u and then drove to our own hotel to pick up others when we were told it wasn’t possible , we were promised warm clothes included yet they put me and my 7 year old straight into sledge without any , when I tried to raise my issues , I was told no one available to deal with me however they were ore than happy to take 485e and not offer any resolution , al in all I would say is best to avoid this company at all cost , a bit of a tourist trap , we had a great week in levi having safaris with many other companies but this one has a lot to learn about dealing with people and advertising , and sadly for us this was our last safari of the holiday. And it ruined it 🥲

Just back from our wonderful trip. Myself and my daughter went horseriding guided by the wonderful Janka. Janka is amazing and made us feel very welcome. Attentive and very friendly and knew her stuff! We had a wonderful ride out, so much so that my daughter went back two days later (I am a little rusty after not being on a horse for 4 years so was only comfortable with a fast trot). Janka took my daughter out for a more advanced ride and the smile on my daughters face when she came back was priceless. THANK YOU Janka. Highly recommend Polar Lights Tours if you want an amazing horseriding experience. We want to go back again just to visit here. The horses are just gorgeous!!! Next time I will get a few lessons in to get me back more comfort in the saddle. Best place to go horseriding, thanks again!

The actual huskies and reindeer were beautiful and we loved the experience, it's a once in a lifetime seeing these animals in this setting, but the organisation was awful. We booked locally but somehow we arrived at the exact same time as two huge coach loads of Inghams visitors(maybe 75 people). They had clearly double booked us with inghams but wouldnt apologise or admit it, and despite all arriving at once we were told Inghams had priority so we waited 1 hour in the cold, in a queue, with a 4 yr old, for a 5 minute husky sled (they only had 4 sleds with 2 people in each). We got to the front of the queue and were told to move aside as a huge coachload of inghams visitors now had priority, my poor children managed well but it was atrocious, they had to stand and watch everyone else for an hour despite queuing so nicely and having already waited. There were no dogs to meet whilst we waited, we didn't hear about them or get any info, we didn't feed the reindeer or hear about them either. The Berry juice was lovely and its in a great setting, I wouldn't choose them again though. It was obviously an admin error, I think if companies invite huge tours like tui or inghams they should not allow other visitors that day. I deliberately booked locally to avoid the mass coach tour and felt foolish as they all got priority in the end as they had bullish reps to lobby their point and obviously bring in more money! Maybe it's early in the season and the admin just got mixed up but it really ruined what should've been a special day, and if they'd just got an extra guide in to show us their dogs or give us a talk about the dogs or even just bring us some warm juice or sausages it would've helped. We were also there from 11am till 2pm (both rides were 5 minutes each so gives a feel for the amount of waiting about on our own with no guide to give us info) and there was no food on offer other than a small biscuit - luckily we toasted our own marshmallows and had snacks but not ideal for small ones over lunchtime- take marshmallows and forks as there are some fires about to use whilst you wait. I've heard other companies allow you to meet the animaks, stroke them, hear about how they work, feed the reindeer which would've been nice. I'm not sure who made the admin error, our local tour organiser or PL but in my opinion they shouldn't have anyone else anywhere near the massive coachloads of people as they take so long to get through them all and it makes it so busy and feel so commercialised and like a conveyor belt, not ideal when you've spent £500!

Very nice and relax experience. Quide was friendly and experienced, gave good instructions for beginner and equipments provided were good. Horses were nice, friendly and calm, easy riding even with very little experience of horse back riding. Quide gave a possibility to try even faster going with the horses wich was nice! The 2hours tour for beginners happend in a beautiful and steady forest nearby the stables.

A really nice reindeer experience with Lars who really knows all about reindeers (with familytraditions over 500 years)! One can hear all about the reindeer and feed the beautiful and nice animal, then take a nice ride in the forest with the reindeer. The superb reindeer tour is finalised with some hot drink aside live fire. Truly great Lapland experience with really nice people and great reindeer! Ride from Levi tourist info and back included. Easy and fun!

Booked with Ingham’s prior to trip mainly due to Covid. You can book independently. We had 22 on the tour in total so group was not so big. In depth safety briefing beforehand and had to sign disclaimer regarding this. However you need not worry as this company takes your safety very seriously. We were the first group out with all adults as the dogs were fresh and will run a bit quickly first session out. They can run about 40 kilometres a day with good conditions. Unbelievable stamina.

We were first out for the day and the dogs were rearing to go. The track is generally pretty good and easily navigable with five sleds out at a time with a guide at the front and another on a snowmobile towards the back. Great fun however you need to have your wits about you as the dogs are very eager to get around so have control of sleigh at all times and don’t be afraid to use your breaks when you need to. The speed of the four dogs is very impressive.

After about 40 minutes around back to base some time to meet some of the dogs and then of to a warm building for some hot berry juice a very fun experience indeed.

A great tour and nice to hear they keep all the dogs in their retirement. A nice ride through the woods and over frozen lakes. We did this as part of an inghams tour which makes it pretty busy so maybe booking direct would be a more authentic but we did this because of uncertainty from Covid.

We got to ride ourselves and the dogs were awesome.

Our family of two adults and two kids (age 5 and 7), truly enjoyed the husky ride on Jan 1st 2022. We were picked up on schedule in Levi and drove for about 10min to the secluded farm. The farm has both huskies and horses and Polar Light Tours offers both options for exploring the winder wonder land.

We opted for the 15km ride. We had two sledges where my wife and I were driving with our kids sitting on the sledge under a warm blanket. After a good and easy-to-understand instructions from the guide, we were directed to the dogs. The staff at the farm was very professional in preparing the dogs with the sledges. Each sledge was pulled by six dogs. It might not sound like a lot, but these dogs are STRONG!.

The 15km took about two hours to complete, with stops during the way for taking pictures, check on the kids and swap drivers for the couples sharing a sledge. At the end of the ride, we had the chance to pet some of the dogs, get a hot berry beverages and a cake.

The adults got isolated overalls and the option to borrow boots and glows. Being the driving, we had no issues what so ever keeping warm. The kids sat under a blanket. I recommend to dress kids, and other passengers, in many layers. Sitting still for two hours in 15-20 below zero requires good clothing. We had bought hand and feet warmers for the kids, which was a great success. They very much enjoyed it.

The overall experience lasted for about three hours and was just fantastic.

A 5-day horse trekking trip around Pöyrisjärvi made a lasting impression and is something I will never forget. The horses were fantastic and we got to gallop on the soft sand and to swim with them in a lake. The versatile scenery and drinking from the rivers and creeks increased my profound appreciation towards the Finnish nature. Our guide (Tanja) was super attentive and her smile and laughter were true highlights of the trip. Everything worked perfectly (also thanks to Juha) and we had the feeling of trekking together as a group, not just being hosted as "tourists". Thank you, Päivi, for organising these experiences for us to enjoy!
