What a treat it was to visit this stately home. A bit of a trek to get there from east London but well worth the journey. This is a privately owned house and park and it has been carefully maintained by the generations of Percys....More

We started with the garden. It is more of a park with a spectacular lake. A great walk in the sunshine. The great hall is worth the entrance fee alone, a Robert Adams extravaganza. The next room was the Ante room, a riot of gold...More

This is really one of the great houses to visit. It is not the largest, but it does house some super treasures. Many of the items of furniture are superb and the paintings are great too. We found the room attendants very friendly and informative....More

A big thank you to the staff who helped us with a golf buggy for getting around. Beautiful venue for a wedding.

It is a rare treat to see so many original furnishings in situ. This is an outstanding property with guides that really know their stuff. We only had a couple of hours there, but could easily have spent much longer, especially in the gardens.

The house was closed when we visited. We went into the gardens which apart from the conservatory was very disappointing. It was just like a public park with very few flowers. There was a lake again nothing special. At £8 a person admission fee it...More

Though not exciting to look at on the outside, inside did not disappoint. Friendly docents. Beautiful architecture. Many original furnishings. Conservatory was stunning. Cafe on site. Duke and family no longer live there, so really is run as a business and mostly rented out for...More

This venue is not really child friendly. It is a lovely manor house, but there is nothing to keep a three year old entertained. There is a garden and fountains on the property, but most of the tour is through the house.

No but there's lots of open spaces where you could play ball and things like that.
