First, can I say that having the boathouse cafe open, with the boats and bouncy castle is fantastic.
But. The council has cut too many corners on park maintenance. The lake is covered in green scum, and the whole place is overgrown.

Very impressed with lake and park. Spent couple of delightful hours with grandchildren here, peddle boat, crazy golf and cafe. Kids loved it. My one complaint would be playground
needs some attention .
Came here with my slimming World group for a walk around the park a few times in aid of Cancer.
Took my dog, it's a good place to walk him, friendly people.
Nice cafe near the lake,had a lovely cuppa and teacake there.
Locke park is a delightful spot. The park is well designed and centred around a lovely lake. Pathways and little bridges take you around the lake, through the rose gardens and other pleasant areas of the park.

Locke Park seems to be underused perhaps because of its location in relation to the town and visitors coming and knowing about it.

Brilliant fun with granddaughters rowing round the park lake then playing on the swings and climbing frames. Car parking was good and the walk to the attractions very pleasant, but highlight definitely the ride on the boat
