You can't skip it!

This fort is FANTASTIC located on a lofty rock. Picturesque location one of the most interesting I've seen. And the view from there is breathtaking. You can probably get there on foot from below, but for those who do not like long hikes on foot it is possible to drive up the road to places where you can reach the fort in dozens of minutes.

One of the last movement of Persian people against Arabs invasion
Aug 2019 • Solo
The fort is located on the top of a forest covered hill, protected one of the last Iranian movements against Arabs invasion. After years of struggle the leader of the revolt, Babak Khoramdin has been captured and executed by the Arabs. Although the revolt failed to liberate Iran, it's mark upon history is still remained as one of the last attempts of iranians.

The castle itself is amazing.

Jun 2019 • Friends
Castle itself has nothing special to see .
You can use off-road cars over there with 600,000 RLS . Be ware not to give the drivers all the money . Morteza One of the drivers with Nissan patrol took a money from us but didn’t come again on time !!!

A must see place:)

There are lot of ways to reach the castle; all depends on your time & money & trekking predisposition:) You can reach the road to Babak Castle by foot already from Kaleybar, and then just start the path right after the camping place(shops with water & food are there). The path leads across the forest&valley and although is not long, it takes you 3hrs to literally climb up the valley. There are signs but should you lose yourself, just follow the river. The Babak castle will appear often in your view, and it will be like a vision: in the middle of nothing, just sky and clouds, you will sense more than see that the high, strange shaped cliff has really a castle on its top. You may even think “I will never arrive there”, and in fact it’s an endless trekking:)) But a big satisfaction once you are on the peak, is incomparable!
You also can pay 500.000 rials and be taken to the Nomads Mountains ( nice experience to assist their lives in tents, with sheeps ) with an off road car, and then just walk half hour trough the last piece of mountain to the castle.
Amazing views to be seen and captured. I enjoyed more the trekking than the castle itself, it really has an incredible location setting.
Enjoy!

Immortal Castle
Jun 2018 • Friends
The castle was constructed in two floors and as you enter the castle you can see the main hall which is surrounded by seven rooms. On the east part of the castle, you can see cisterns and during the winter, it used to be filled with snow and rain and were used under siege.

A mysterious castle on the top of a peak
Jun 2018
On a sunny day, it is a climbing march along the high-rise and relatively dangerous track of this castle. If the weather is foggy, the mystery of the route will increase.

Avoid if there is snow
Apr 2019 • Couples
We had two guides with us but the conditions in the snow were so bad I had to turn back well before reaching the castle. From the village below the castle looked clear of snow but from the Nomad settlement where the 4wd left us there was snow. Even my husband, who got much closer than me, was advised to turn back beforethe final ascent to the castle.

Amazing place
Jun 2018
the best time for this city is in spring and summer, very beautiful city with amazing vegetation.
the Babak Fort is a important historical place actually for people that believe Iran became Muslim country by war not by choose.
you can find three way to Fort but the best and easy way is pass a part by car then have 1 hour to reach to location.
